The Fife and Drum Inn

A++! This was our first visit to Williamsburg, and the Fife and Drum exceeded our expectations. The parking garage is located just steps away. Staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in the suite which was spacious and clean (like the rest of the building) and simply but beautifully decorated. The bathroom linens were thick and plentiful, and they were presented all wrapped up with a bow (very nice touch!). The shower had a seat in it and plenty of shampoo, conditioner, and soap mounted on the wall (so convenient!). There was a nice tv, easy WiFi access, and several ports to charge your devices. The breakfast room was tastefully decorated with plenty of options for a hearty, convenient breakfast (and tasty cookies to go). All of these little touches made the stay feel comfy, homey, and easy. The building is conveniently located to some great restaurants, coffee, ice cream, and other shops, and just a block or two over from the colonial experience. Bring good walking shoes because there's so much to see right out the door. My only complaint was that we didn't spend enough time visiting, and there's so much more we want to see. I was sad to leave, but I guess that just means we'll have to visit again someday.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Fife & Drum Inn and it is definitely our favorite place to stay when it's just my husband and I travelling. The location is perfect. Steps away from great shopping, food and W&M. Our son is attending W&M so we love to stay at the Fife & Drum when we go visit.

We stayed at the Fife and Drum Inn for 6 nights and this was our first time there. The owners and staff were all friendly, pleasant and helpful. They sent a guide in advance with useful info on dining and other things in the area to enjoy. As regular visitors to Colonial Williamsburg, their dining recommendations were either in our standard rotation list or have been. We often stay at CW locations and in the historic area but greatly appreciated this location for its proximity to great dining. The historic area is a short walk, depending on where you are going. We left our car parked for the duration of the trip. They have a nice roof top patio with tables and a small roofed area with seating and 3 closed sides with sliding doors that could be opened and we enjoyed sitting outside several afternoons and evenings. There are two rooms that also open onto a small breezeway with covered outside seating and we enjoyed sitting there as well and listening to some live music from behind one of the nearby restaurants. We found the Inn to be well kept, snacks and continental breakfast items were well stocked and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hope to stay there again on another trip to Colonial Williamsburg.

Excellent location, walkable to historic sites, restaurants and shops. Very clean. Decor was authentic looking. Only downside was actual breakfast although it was disclosed on website. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Williamsburg.

The restoration room was perfect. We loved taking coffee out to the connected deck. Breakfast was wonderful with hard boiled eggs, yogurt, granola, and yummy muffin tops! The location is perfect and everyone we met that worked there is happy and helpful! Fun games set out as well.

A really historic place to stay right on the edge of the Colonial Williamsburg near the William and Mary campus. Rooms were comfortable and though the floors are the creakiest I have ever experienced there are no room above you so this was not a major issue. Staff was efficient and friendly. Breakfast was fairly minimal unless you are big granola person.
