Our dirt bike adventure group stayed at this pub last weekend. I read a few reviews of the so called a rude ady who owns the pub. So I was on a mission to see for myself. At first she was very matter of fact, but once I got to know her I realised that she really knows how to run a pub. Amazing sense of multitasking and getting things done. Stick around and talk to this woman, hard exterior soft heart. Very awesome woman that gets the job done. Sam is the chef that likes deep sea fishing, can't access the deep sea fish that he catches. But an awesome guy that has cooked all over Australia. Great pub and we will definitely go back. If you are coming from the city don't be precious, have a few rum & cokes red wine or whatever and chill, then feel what this pub is all about.

Great pub awesome bar staff.. Barry is a star .. great food. We are riding adventure bikes and felt welcome by everyone here. Will be back. You can’t beat a perfectly cooked steak and a few cold beers. Comfortable and clean accommodation and a great nights sleep.

The woman at the bar was rude and extremely unfriendly.. She told us it was pizzas or nothing , we actually enjoyed our pizzas. But the attitude and rudeness of the woman was off putting. From the other reviews it seems that the majority of customers agreed .

We stayed at Swinging Bridge Park and I went to pub for a beer. I asked for a beer. No hello or conversation. Put the beer in front of me and gave me change. No speak. Husband/partner (?) walked past me 4or 5 times and didn’t even look at me let alone say anything. The big tv was on and the news came on. There were 2 locals in the bar. The sound was off. I said excuse me could we have some sound on the tv? She gave me a dirty look and said No- bar rules! I laughed and said you are kidding. She gave me another strange look and said You want sound on for the news? I said yes please. She turned it up so that you could just hear some sound but not hear what was being said. After about 2 minutes she walked back, picked up the remote and turned the sound off! I finished my beer and left and won’t be back. Do yourself a favour and give it a big miss!! Graham

The owner is the rudest woman I’ve met. I heard her speaking badly of patrons as they left the bar to play pool or sit down and enjoy their night. Will not be returning, who knows what she said about me when my back was turned.

Stumbled into Cooyar just driving around the area. It was lunchtime so we headed to the pub. Lovely pub with fire going. Service was good and the steak was one of the best I’ve had in ages! Cooked so well and as I asked for it. They said it was from a farm down the road. Thanks for a great lunch!

Yesterday camped at the suspension bridge park in Cooyar. We walked to the pub to enquire if we needed to book for dinner that night. Our intention was to support the local business. We said hello to the woman behind the bar and she just glared at us. We asked if we needed to book and after some hesitation said no we don’t. She didn’t smile or engage with us at all. We asked where the dining area is and she said inside or outside. We went back to our camp and I looked up reviews of Cooyar Pub and found that others had experienced similar rudeness. We thought, why bother so we lit our fire and cooked dinner. Not sure what her problem is but she has no people skills and is extremely rude and I believe she is the owner. We were expecting the friendliest bar as we had read on the internet

Dropped in for a beer/wine to support the Country Pub. Female behind the bar was totally unfriendly, and beyond asking what we wanted, that was it. No asking where we were from etc., but was more interested in the locals. That’s her choice, but our choice was to leave without spending more money.
