We had reservations for July 23 and 24 but couldn't get there because of the Route 20 road closure due to the Easy Fire. After numerous attempts to reach them by phone and email, we didn't hear back from someone until 16 hours later. She indicated that there were alternative routes but wasn't familiar with them as she had only been there since January. The alternative routes added 5 hours each way to our two day trip to the park. We asked if they could rent the room out and reimburse us. She said "Why would I do that, it's already rented." Surely if we couldn't go east on Rt 20, there were people that couldn't go west and would have been pleased to see an availability. Being senior citizens driving into a smoke area would not have been wise. No compassion, no willingness to try to help. They got their money from us even in our absence and that surely was their main concern. Will not recommend to anyone because of their attitude. Definitely partial or full reimbursement should have been offered since getting there was out of our control.
