Property Description
It is a 200 year old log cabin in Woodford County on a cattle farm owned by the same family since the late 1700’s. It is located just 3.7 miles from the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, with 5 distilleries within 10 miles. It is a 20 minute drive to Keeneland and the Bluegrass airport, 35 minutes to the KY Horse Park and 1 hour to Churchill Downs. A great location for anyone attending the Keeneland races or planning to follow the Bourbon Trail. The space The cabin has 1 BR with a double bed downstairs, 2 BRs with 2 twin beds in each room upstairs, 1 BA downstairs and fireplaces in the LR and downstairs BR. The original log potion of the cabin contains the LR and the 3 BRs. The kitchen, study and bathroom are three steps down from the original portion, and the sunroom is 1 step down from the kitchen. Gates are available in the case of small children to avoid falls down the steps. Guests need to take care when using the steps to the upstairs and the steps going from one portion of the cabin to the other since they are narrow and very steep. This is common with old cabins. There is a smart TV in the LR with Netflix available. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove and a dining area. The study has a dedicated work space and Wi-Fi is available. The sunroom has a second dining area, and the washer and dryer. The bathroom has a shower/bath, hair dryer and towel warmer. There is a deck at the back with a propane grill. There are two closets, one in the sunroom and one in an upstairs bedroom. A hat rack and wall pegs have been provided for additional hanging space. Parking is definitely free. Guest access Guests are encourage to walk and enjoy the farm but are not permitted in any barns or fenced areas even if gates are open. There is no swimming, wadding or ice skating allowed on the pond, which is not fence and contains snapping turtles. Also any farm machinery is off limits. This is a working farm, and we want guests, as well as the livestock to remain safe. A map of the farm is included in the "Cabin Manual " with the areas guests are allowed marked. Other things to note Pets must be on a leash and children must be supervised at all times for their safety and the safety of the cattle and horses. Some of the fencing is electric so additional care should be taken when close to those fences. There are some signs marking this type of fencing. Cozy farmhouse that feels like home. We were on the farm but we had our own private place. We fully felt at home and enjoyed being on a farm with Polled Herefords, Angus, on one side and horses grazing on the other. Postcard perfect Americana barns dotted the landscape of rolling hills and fences. This farmhouse has gorgeous antiques so you feel back in time but yet it’s up to date and well maintained with all the amenities you need. The kitchen is fully stocked where you can even enjoy a dinner in, or the many distilleries nearby. We enjoyed the Glenn’s creek distillery. The owners were responsive to any questions and requests. They were a step above anyone else we have stayed with by even having croissants with jam for us to enjoy for breakfast. This is Kentucky farmhouse at its finest. Thank you for sharing your cozy home with us! We can’t wait to be back.

Our family (a senior couple, our daughter from CA, and 3 well-travelled dogs), stayed at this wonderful cabin July 11-13, 2025. We have stayed at many rentals through the years, but this cabin is one of the best. The cabin was spotlessly clean. A modern and clean kitchen had everything we needed for preparing our meals. Nicky gave us a welcome surprise of fresh cream, coffee, and pastries that waited for our arrival. The bedding was clean and comfortable. Fresh soft towels were provided in the bathroom on a warming rack, so wonderful. The outside area provides unbelievable views of the farm land, horses, and cattle. We found Nicky very easy to communicate with, accommodating, and she made us feel very welcome to their beautiful cabin. We will definitely stay here again when in the Versailles area.

Wonderful stay This is a lovingly restored historical log cabin with tons of very interesting features. But, it also has all the modern comforts, a well stocked kitchen, nice towels, antique furniture, etc. It has a wonderfully picturesque views from two porches. I can't say enough good things about the stay!

Great historical property We really enjoyed our stay here. We were allowed our 2 family dogs and the quietness was wonderful. The hosts were very accommodating and were very considerate. It snowed our last night there and they contacted us to let us know there was no hurry to check out if we were concerned about the roads. The cabin is so historic, which I truly enjoy. The cabin is located near several of the distilleries we were visiting. It is well stocked! The internet was very iffy but it gave us some great family time with card games. Would highly recommend this place with able bodied people. The stairs are steep, as listed, so not too good for the elderly. All in all, would recommend this cozy, warm and historic cottage.
