Where do I start 🤦🏽♀️ Service was shocking the reception man didn’t even tell us times or where facilities were on arrival infact he barley spoken to us at all !! We asked him to book us a taxi for 7.15pm double checked with him several times that the time he booked was correct, he assured us yet left us standing for half an hour in the lobby knowing fine Well he had booked it for 7.45pm the taxi firm confirmed this and we missed the kick off for the rugby match we attended no apology just lies .. Staff also did not inform us the pool etc was out of order they allowed us to put our swimwear on and go over to be told from the spa staff!! The breakfast was shocking for 18 pound a head I couldn’t believe they were charging them prices I’ve been to many spa hotels and the breakfasts were much cheaper and so much nicer.. The hotel was abit run down windows were filthy, air dryer did not work in room and the window did not open!! The only positive was the 2 young gentleman at the bar and the spa staff that were very polite and friendly most of the other staff basically could not be bothered and looked like they didn’t want to be there.. Alcoholic beverages were so expensive 10 pound for a large class of wine 😫 never ever again I was so disappointed.

This is a castle hotel with a history of 800 years. The hotel service is warm and thoughtful, the sanitary conditions are good, the breakfast is rich and delicious. What's more worth mentioning is the environment of the hotel. In addition to the beautiful castle, the surrounding natural environment is even more pleasant.

Where to start, very little choice of drinks behind the bar, I’m guessing due to it closing in a couple of days. Paint flaking off the ceiling . But is nothing compared being locked out of the grounds of hotel at night and not been able to gain access. We had to bust the lock of the gate to gain access, not sure how an ambulance would have got in .
The hotel is being prepared to house illegal migrants.

The hotel is stunning. Loved the history. Eating in the large conservatory was a joy. The bar was amazing too and grounds just beautiful. Staff could not be more helpful. Thank you. The whole experience helped alleviate an otherwise stressful time.

Really nice surroundings and facilities. The building is showing it’s age and my room was showing it’s age (toilet roll holder hanging off the wall, sealant, old TV). Breakfast really hearty and staff very friendly.

One night business stay. Lovely quite location but only 5 mins drive from nearest shops/supermarkets.
Better gym facilities than a lot of places I've stayed in with a Jacuzzi & small pool.
Very pleasant hotel with nice grounds.
Helpful staff. If I'm in the area I would stay again.

The hotel itself is needing some upgrades for example my room door lock was hanging off. Staff were nice and helpful though but sending an email directly to the hotel

Dirty room on my arrival without towels and glasses, crips were found on the floor, paid for an upgrade and it was a complete waste of money, very noisy

This hotel has possibly the worst restaurant food of any I have stayed in for several years and I am in a hotel for work every other week!
In the four nights at the hotel using the restaurant was unavoidable and the food was very poor on every occasion. One night I was served lumps of potato that should have been gnocchi. The head waitress agreed but could offer no explanation even after speaking to the chef. I was told the manageress would speak to me but on each occasion I went to reception she was not available. I was promised an email with some explanations but have received nothing. Very poor!
