JI Hotel (Wutaishan Scenic Area)

Avoiding the National Day crowds, this is my second visit to Mount Wutai, and I chose Ji Hotel again! The chef here is exceptionally skilled—the food is much better than local restaurants and offers great value for money. The breakfast is also rich in variety! Plus, they serve free shaved noodles (Daoxianmian). We stayed for two nights and had all our dinners right here! My mother was so happy with the meals. The Xinghuacun liquor was also quite good. (Just a note: the mutton here tends to have a rather strong ***** flavor!)

We were extremely satisfied with the room facilities and service. The only drawback is that it's a bit far from the scenic area. Although the hotel provides a shuttle bus, the schedule cannot be guaranteed during peak hours, and sometimes it can't fit everyone, forcing guests to wait for the next trip. Also, once people have access to a free shuttle, they are reluctant to pay for a taxi on their own. During the peak season, it probably won't be able to handle the demand at all.

This hotel is probably considered quite decent in Mount Wutai, and it attracts a fair number of guests. The breakfast is not bad, but the toilet flush in the room is extremely loud—even heavy sleepers would be woken up by it. The bed sheets and duvet make a lot of rustling noises the moment you move, for whatever reason. Before checking out, I saw a housekeeping cart in the hallway and asked for a pack of facial tissues; I was asked which room I was in, and they were very reluctant to hand them over. When the guests ahead of me checked out, the front desk staff asked if they wanted to take a few bottles of mineral water to go, but when it was my turn, no such question was asked—they simply took my room card and that was it. Of course, in the afternoon, a staff member called to ask if I was satisfied with my stay, which I found quite laughable. It was way too late to ask, and it instantly felt like guests were being treated differently based on some hierarchy. Overall, I always felt that the hotel's front desk and service staff had a veneer of hospitality masking indifference, much like luxury boutique sales assistants.

The hotel environment is quite good for Taihua Town. The rooms are neat and clean, and the surroundings are relatively quiet, making for a very good sleep. It was already past 7 PM when I checked in, and the handsome guy at the front desk kindly informed me that the restaurant was still open, and complimentary Dao-xiao noodles (sliced noodles) were available. The hotel is located rather far north, so it's a bit of a distance from the core temple cluster. Fortunately, the hotel offers a free shuttle service. On the first day, after coming down from Dailuo Summit, the van picked me up from the parking lot very quickly; and the next morning, they dropped me off near the Dailuo Summit bus stop.

The hotel is located in Taihuai Town, not far from the main temples, and offers excellent shuttle services. It also has its own restaurant, providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which is quite convenient. As for the taste, I personally found it to be just average.

The staff are proactive and very responsive to requests, always with an excellent attitude – a big thumbs up to them! The hotel is located north of the central scenic area, and they offer a shuttle service to the main attractions, which is almost always available without a wait. This is incredibly convenient and deserves a huge shout-out to the hotel management. The environment is clean and tidy, and there's a restaurant, supermarket, and cultural/creative shop right in the hotel courtyard, which is super handy.

My stay at the Hanting Hotel Wutaishan was perfect! The hotel is conveniently located within the scenic area, which saved a lot of effort for my pilgrimage. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were complete. Even though the temperature dropped at night in the mountains, the room was very well heated. The front desk service was warm and attentive, and the breakfast offered a rich variety, including local specialty 'dao xiao mian' (knife-cut noodles). It was great to be able to get a good rest after visiting the temples.

The room was great, clean and tidy. The hotel is located within the scenic area, offering convenient pick-up and drop-off services to nearby attractions. Check-in was quick, and the staff were excellent, especially Fanfan, who was superb! The breakfast was very unique, with jujubes and whole grains that were incredibly delicious. They also had specialty noodles, porridge, tofu pudding, fruits, and coffee! I was so full that I could stroll around for the whole morning without feeling hungry.

Among many accommodation options, I chose Atour. The housekeeper, Fanfan, was very helpful, and the hotel's free shuttle service communicated smoothly, with a friendly driver. If you don't have time for breakfast, you can get a packed simple meal. The restaurant downstairs at the hotel has pretty good food. Staying at Atour gives me peace of mind and reassurance.
