Tegoo Hotel

The hotel's location is excellent, directly across from Gulangyu Island, making it very convenient to visit all the major attractions. The hotel facilities are complete, breakfast is extensive, and the service is warm and attentive. It was a very satisfying stay.

This is an old-established star-rated hotel in Xiamen. I booked a New Year's Eve dinner here over ten years ago, and this time I'm staying here again. At less than 300 a night, the value for money is really high. The soundproofing in the room is good, and the facilities have a bit of a dreamcore vibe, but they're sufficient. Trip.com provided a free breakfast, but when I went to redeem it, the restaurant staff said there wasn't one. It was quite embarrassing having to inquire and call the front desk. The breakfast quality, as always, is guaranteed, and the view is great. The front desk staff's attitude was so-so; the only time I felt any warmth was when the doorman wished me a safe journey upon checking out.

The hotel's location is great, making it convenient to get anywhere. It's very close to Zhongshan Road, Gulangyu Island, and Nanputuo Temple. The service was excellent; when I washed my clothes and had nowhere to hang them, the room attendant proactively brought a drying rack, which was very thoughtful.

We were already very satisfied with our online booking for a triple family city-view room, which included both breakfast and supper. What made us even happier was that upon check-in, the hotel informed us that for a small extra charge, we could upgrade to a family sea-view room, which was larger than our original booking. The view from the sea-view room was a special surprise that truly excited the children. It's hard to describe or capture in photos, so I highly recommend experiencing it yourself – it's definitely worth it. The hotel's location is excellent. There's a bus stop and a subway station right outside, and getting a taxi is also very convenient. It's close to Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, which is lively and just a short walk away. The service at the hotel was very attentive; they even provided a clothes drying rack. The breakfast and supper were part of the package and complimentary, featuring local specialty snacks, making them very rich and thoughtful. We were very pleased with our stay this time. Finally, I took a picture of the lobby and the night view from our room window. Thumbs up! One choice of either a triple self-service afternoon tea or a self-service supper: superb and very thoughtful.

The room was clean and the service was great. The complimentary late-night snack was very generous, with an all-you-can-eat Shacha noodles buffet that was even better than what you'd find at outside restaurants. It's also conveniently located for exploring Zhongshan Road, just a short walk away.

This is an older hotel, but the rooms are spacious with high ceilings. The service is warm and thoughtful; they even proactively offered a drying rack for clothes. The lunch and dinner offer great value for money, even better than breakfast. I suggest making the breakfast menu more diverse with new dishes and more rotation. The only drawback is that the facilities could use an update. I've noted a few issues: 1. The curtains are installed inside the window frame, which prevents them from fully covering the glass, letting light in during the morning. This was a poor experience. Perhaps replacing the curtains is too expensive, but offering some blackout strips for guests who need them would be helpful. 2. The toilet seat no longer has a soft-close feature, so it makes a loud noise when it falls. I recommend replacing it or adding bumper strips. 3. The hairdryer is an old model, not the modern high-speed, low-noise type. I also suggest regularly cleaning the filter on the back of the hairdryer, as it was completely clogged with fibers. 4. The bathroom has an exhaust fan, but it wasn't working. When I asked the front desk, they said the room had fresh air. However, the fresh air system and bathroom exhaust fan are two different systems. The fresh air system supplies air and cannot replace the bathroom exhaust fan. I recommend repairing and enabling the bathroom exhaust fan.

Pretty good. You can see the hotel right after exiting the subway, which is convenient for getting around. It's also relatively close to中山路 and other attractions, with subway and bus access, and taxis are readily available. The hotel environment is decent, with an old-school five-star feel.

I booked two nights. On the first day, I booked around 2 PM for two adults and two children. The afternoon tea was really bad; they only provided for three people, and the half-price for children isn't worth it. (Later, my child said the late-night snack on the second day was decent.) On the first day, we dropped off our luggage and went out. When we returned around 9 PM, the kids noticed that the cabinet hardware was broken and the faucet valve was faulty. We called for service, and someone just glanced at it and did nothing further. On the second day, we returned to find housekeeping had been in and even brought slippers for our second child, which I found quite touching. In the evening, the kids were watching TV, and the online video suddenly stopped working. We called someone, but they couldn't fix it, saying the network was bad. Actually, the location is pretty good, very convenient for getting around, but I honestly feel the service and facilities are subpar.

I was very satisfied with my stay at the Grand Hotel Tainan in Xiamen this time. The lobby manager and front desk staff on duty were very welcoming and helped us upgrade our room and even gave us complimentary breakfast, which was quite good. We were also lucky enough to win two tickets to the Botanical Garden! And you can store your luggage for free after checking out! The only minor drawback might be that the room was a bit humid due to the rainy season, and the bedding wasn't as dry as I'd like. However, given the reasonable price and the perfect service 💯, I still highly recommend booking here~
