Swiss Grand Xiamen

The room was very spacious with two bathrooms, a living room, and a bedroom. It had one large bed and a bunk bed, which was plenty of space for four people. The kids loved it and enjoyed the swimming and sauna. The front desk staff were also very welcoming. The lunch buffet offered great value for money. Highly recommend.

The housekeepers were all very warm, polite, and accommodating. They even greeted me proactively when I met them before heading out. The room service staff were also incredibly thoughtful; when I wasn't feeling well and asked for a cup of warm water, they brought me a whole pot. The only downside was the air conditioning, which I wasn't happy with at all, as it was very, very slow to adjust the temperature. The view was fantastic, and I really appreciated that my room was ready early for check-in.

We had to switch rooms once, from the 16th to the 22nd floor. To our surprise, the new room's bathroom had no door, which was incredibly awkward. It looked like it had broken off, but a new one wasn't installed. The bathtub curtain also changed from electric to manual. Despite being on a higher floor and costing more, the amenities were actually worse than the lower floor, making for a very poor experience. We also called to have our luggage moved to the new room while we were out, but it wasn't done.

They proactively upgraded my room to a higher floor, and the sea-view room directly overlooked Gulangyu Island – the daytime and nighttime views were absolutely stunning. The hotel was clean and beautiful, with the deep-rooted charm of an old five-star establishment. What particularly touched me was when a greeter at the entrance saw me sitting there with my heel chafed, and thoughtfully brought over two band-aids. My heart truly warmed at that moment! I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit. [Attached are a few photos of the view from the hotel room.]

Everything was great, and it's conveniently located near attractions like Gulangyu Island, the Twin Towers, Zhongshan Road, and Xiamen University.

I was very satisfied with the hotel. The service was great, and the location was excellent. You could even see Gulangyu Island from the hotel! My kids absolutely loved Ruiyi, and it will definitely be our top choice for future trips.

The hotel's location is excellent, right across from Gulangyu Island. Peace Wharf, where you can catch a night cruise, is just downstairs. It's also very convenient to walk to Zhongshan Road! The hotel service was great, especially Miss Zhao at the front desk. Knowing I was traveling with my 80-year-old mother, she specifically helped me arrange a 1 PM late check-out. Many thanks!

For such an expensive hotel, on the very first night, the bathroom flooded while I was showering. I had to call maintenance to clear the drain halfway through. Also, there's a step at the lobby's retail area with no warning sign, causing an elderly person to fall and suffer soft tissue contusions on both knees! The cleanliness and service at this hotel are absolutely terrible. It's completely unworthy of the beautiful scenery of Xiamen!

Overall, the hotel was decent, but this time my experience wasn't great. I felt the staff's attitude wasn't very good and they were difficult to communicate with. I'm not sure if they were just too busy.
