The staff is very efficient. We had to cancel one night and got refunded for it even though we cancelled on the same day. The room is a bit run down, but it‘s fine for one or two nights. The location is good. There are some restaurants nearby and the Memorial Hall is closeby.

The soundproofing in the room was terrible. I had the misfortune of having inconsiderate neighbors. Hostels usually have notices asking guests to keep noise down after 10:30 PM. Given how poor the soundproofing is, the hotel should really remind guests about noise etiquette.

Good food options nearby and right next to one of the CPC tourist sites. Friendly staff. You do need to get a taxi/ bus into the main area of town but it's cheap and quick. The room was spacious and clean. Good value.

The hotel reception is excellent. Very helpful through a phone translator. This Yan’an hotel, like a high proportion in my experience, has a different name than on Trip.com. The name on the elevator is Pod Inn.  One of the revolutionary sites is a very short walk away: 25 yuan entrance plus 100 yuan deposit for the audio guide. Alipay doesn’t work, but WeChat does. Or bring cash. Great to be in Yan’an for the memorial museum: 1. You only need passport and to fill in details in the visitor book to get in 2. Free to get in and awesome because of the importance of this time. 3. Bring your translator camera app to get a lot more out of this amazing place.
