If you're visiting Guilin, choose this guesthouse! It's within walking distance to the 20-yuan banknote scenic spot. The guesthouse offers pick-up/drop-off services to the pier and for exploring the ancient town. You can also have dinner at the guesthouse; the vegetables are home-grown, and the home-cooked meals have a really warm and cozy feeling!

The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, offering fantastic tips on how to explore the area efficiently, which really helped us avoid any detours. We also enjoyed their absolutely delicious fish dish and great coffee! The entire family was so welcoming and friendly; we'll definitely be back. The guesthouse boasts a superb location, conveniently close to all the scenic attractions. Our room was spacious and bright, and the facilities were very good.

The guesthouse is located in a village directly across from Xingping Ancient Town. While the drive into the village can be a bit tricky due to narrow roads, the surrounding environment is lovely. It's also conveniently close to the iconic 20 RMB banknote viewpoint and Xianggong Mountain. The owner was incredibly warm and friendly, even providing pick-up and drop-off service to the ferry pier. The ferry itself costs only 5 RMB per person and gets you to the town center in a flash. The guesthouse even has a swimming pool, which was perfect for keeping the kids entertained. The guesthouse offers meals, and the food was delicious. However, we found it quite expensive; for example, a plate of stir-fried pork with green peppers was 48 RMB, and garlic water spinach was 24 RMB!

The service at this guesthouse was absolutely top-notch. The owner was incredibly warm and enthusiastic, giving us directions, recommending local attractions, and even sharing tips on how to avoid tourist traps. He also responded to our WeChat messages almost instantly. The cleanliness was also excellent – everything was spotless. Right downstairs, there's a dining area where the vegetables are either freshly sourced daily or picked straight from their own garden. It was lovely to relax and cool off under the shade of passion fruit trees, and our child especially loved watching the many chickens running around and hearing the roosters crowing in the adjacent orchard! There were a few areas for improvement, though. For instance, the bathroom and sink floors were quite slippery; I almost slipped and fell the first time I walked in. It would be much better if the shower and toilet areas had a curtain for separation. Also, not all windows in the room had curtains, which meant we were woken up quite early by the bright morning light. Additionally, litter carelessly thrown by other guests into the lotus pond in the courtyard wasn't cleared away promptly. The cooking from the restaurant could also use a little improvement. The guesthouse's location isn't in the main part of the ancient town. Upon arriving at the old town, you'll need to walk or hire a car to get to the pier. From there, you take a ferry to the opposite river bank (operates 7 am-9 pm), where the guesthouse will send an electric cart to pick you up. This isn't ideal for guests with a lot of luggage, as they don't offer a direct drop-off service to this side. This side of the river is mostly inhabited by locals, so there aren't many special shops, restaurants, small businesses, or travel photography spots. However, if you're looking to escape the crowds and hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas and enjoy a few days of idyllic rural life, basking in the sun and simply relaxing amidst beautiful scenery, then it's still a wonderfully comfortable and peaceful place to stay.

I booked this room in August during peak season. I thought it would be a decent deal, but it turned out to be amazing value for money! The room was incredibly spacious, and the views were fantastic. The breakfast was delicious and really hit the spot. Highly recommended!
