Let's start with the negatives. We booked for the summer, and the swimming pool was a significant factor in our decision, but... it wasn't open. When we asked, they claimed it was due to rain, but the truth is, both days of our arrival were a scorching 38 degrees Celsius. When we inquired about its opening, they couldn't provide a clear answer. I later went to inspect it myself and found it completely empty, not a single drop of water, and no signs of recent maintenance. I spoke with an employee who expressed regret, saying it was a pity they spent money repairing the pool only for it to remain closed due to lack of maintenance. Therefore, if the pool is going to be closed for an extended period, it really should be announced on their official website. Now for the positives: The staff service was excellent and very responsive. The electric shuttle service was quick to dispatch, and the location itself is right within the Guifeng Scenic Area. So, I would recommend staying here for anyone whose primary purpose is hiking and not swimming.

Bishuidanxin Hotel had been on my radar for ages, saved in my phone's maps. On this trip to Sanqingshan, I realized it wasn't far, so I decided to make it happen. The hotel is situated within the scenic area, with the Bishuidanxin section nestled in the core zone. It's a villa-style property. We opted for the Yurang Wenjin villas, which boast an antique Chinese design right by the lake, providing a truly enhanced scenic holiday experience. The complimentary electric cart service for pick-up and drop-off was incredibly convenient. Our stay included admission tickets for two and boat cruise tickets. The scenic area also offers water recreational activities, with options for both adults and children – a pity we didn't bring our gear this time! The hotel staff were incredibly warm and attentive. They arranged a pick-up for us at the scenic area's main gate, which we pre-booked. We were also relieved to know that we could dine at the hotel for both lunch and dinner, and that the prices were very reasonable. We chose to dine at the hotel. Afterwards, they even treated us to complimentary tickets for the evening performance. The 'Datihua' (fireworks made from molten iron) show was exceptional, far surpassing those in many ancient towns, and it wasn't crowded at all. The performance itself was also impressive, set against the stunning backdrop of Guifeng mountain, narrating tales of historical figures from Yiyang Guifeng. There are three distinct touring options for Guifeng, catering to all fitness levels. The complimentary boat trip provided by the hotel was perfect for soaking in the panoramic views of Guifeng from the water – in fact, it was so good I felt no need to explore Guifeng on foot. After the boat tour, the hotel again arranged convenient pick-up and drop-off. All in all, the entire stay was exceptional. Had we not had other travel arrangements, I would have genuinely loved to extend our stay for several more days. I've already recommended it to several friends during our visit, and they all agree it's fantastic. Ultimately, it was this hotel that drew me to Guifeng. Both the scenic area and the hotel exceeded my expectations. Visiting in August was surprisingly pleasant temperature-wise, making it a place well worth revisiting for a relaxing getaway. The hotel is situated within the scenic area, accessible only by shuttle bus and a dedicated boat. Compared to Huajianling, Huajianfu is arguably further from the main scenic spots, which makes it quieter. However, for climbing Guifeng Peak, staying at Yulangwenjin is actually more convenient. This is because from Yulangwenjin, you can take a boat and begin your ascent from Haohanpo, making the climb considerably easier and allowing you to enjoy a pleasant downhill trek for the remainder of the route. Furthermore, the hotel's service is truly outstanding, characterized by a genuine and heartfelt enthusiasm for guests.
