Far East Village Hotel Yokohama

Our second stay since June, and the kids absolutely loved it. The lobby offers complimentary drinks and cookies. The location is fantastic, nestled between Sakuragicho and Kannai stations. All attractions are within walking distance, and there are plenty of dining and drinking options nearby, right next to Bashamichi. We'll definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Yokohama.

Aside from the dusty air conditioning unit, the rest of the room was quite clean. It's not far from the subway station, which makes it convenient to get around. The room size isn't small compared to other Japanese hotels I've stayed in, and it was quite spacious for one person.

The biggest highlight for me was the incredibly convenient location. It's just a few minutes' walk from Sakuragicho Station, making it super easy to get to popular spots like the Minato Mirai Ferris Wheel, Yokohama Museum of Art, and Red Brick Warehouse, as well as plenty of shopping areas. Even Yamashita Park and Chinatown aren't far, and with numerous bus routes nearby, you can easily get around without even needing the subway. Plus, there are lots of small streets around with a fantastic variety of dining options. The room itself was definitely on the smaller side, which is pretty standard for Japan, but perfectly adequate for two people. The bathroom was also tiny but had everything we needed, though stepping over the doorway to enter was a minor inconvenience. I particularly want to praise the lobby on the first floor. They offer complimentary coffee, black tea, green tea, jasmine tea, plain water, and ice, along with small cookies. It was great to grab a drink every time we left or returned. The hotel staff also provided excellent service.

The room is a bit small, and there's no space under the bed for luggage, making it hard to move around. The facilities are new, but the train noise is very loud, though there are no trains late at night. You'll need to take a car to get around. There are good restaurants nearby, including many Chinese options.

The room was clean, tidy, and bright, though a bit small. The noise from the tram downstairs and the ventilation system was quite loud and affected my sleep. It was convenient to have vending machines on some floors. The towels were replaced daily. The cherry blossoms downstairs were beautiful.
