Furong Town Jiujiu Inn

The room was decent. Its location is excellent, right near the entrance of Furong Ancient Town. My only wish is that the room had window screens.

To be objective, Jiujiu Inn is frankly just an average guesthouse. We were influenced by the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Ctrip when we made our booking. The bed was quite spacious at 1.5 meters wide, but the bathroom facilities were quite disappointing. The owner also recommended a restaurant she thought was good, and we trusted her. However, the restaurant she recommended was about a third more expensive than others. Honestly, at best, it only warrants an average rating.

The owner's son was incredibly helpful and friendly, going out of his way to guide us to parking and assist with our luggage. The hotel is very close to the scenic area entrance, just a hundred meters away. Parking was fairly convenient. The rooms are a bit dated, but the bedding was generally clean and tidy. The two 1.5-meter-wide beds were very large and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked great. WiFi was decent. The shower cubicle was a bit small, but the water pressure was fantastic, making for a very comfortable shower, which was a plus. Unfortunately, the overall cleanliness was disappointing. The room had poor soundproofing, and the family staying next door was noisy until 2 AM, disturbing our sleep. While they helped with luggage upon arrival, we had to haul our own bags for several tens of meters upon departure.

I booked a room on [booking platform] on August 12th, and extended my stay for another night via Ctrip on the 13th. I spent three days exploring Furong Town, staying for two nights. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which is why I specifically wanted to leave this positive review. 1. The guesthouse is very close to the scenic area, just a short walk away. This is very convenient for visitors who explore the ancient town entirely on foot. 2. On the first day, I explored Furong Town. (The owner kindly helped me book tickets, which saved me about 20 yuan compared to purchasing them directly at the scenic spot's ticket booth.) 3. On the second day, I went white-water rafting on Mengdong River. (Again, the owner helped me book tickets, and I received a discount, making it definitely cheaper than purchasing them directly.) 4. On the second night, I suddenly came down with a bad cold, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. It was already midnight, and being from out of town, I had no idea where the nearest hospital was. I called the owner, who immediately drove me to the hospital. After receiving my injection, it was already 2:30 AM. I really didn't want to trouble the owner due to the late hour, but I couldn't find a taxi. So, I had no choice but to call them again, and they promptly came to pick me up. I was truly touched and incredibly grateful for their assistance. 5. On the third day, I rested at the guesthouse for most of the morning. After checking out at noon, I drove back home. 6. The guesthouse was tidy and clean, and the room looked exactly as depicted in the promotional photos. Guests also have the option of using either a squat or a Western-style toilet. Finally, I wish the owner a thriving business and abundant prosperity!

This was my first time visiting Furong Town, and I booked this guesthouse. The host provided exceptional service and was incredibly welcoming. They offer free parking, and the amenities are quite good. Plus, it's super close to the scenic area, just a two-minute walk away. Highly recommend!
