I booked and paid in advance. I booked about three weeks before my arrival. But when I got there, I was told by the reception that I had to pay an extra €14.2. They told me that this was city tax, which tourists needed to pay. I really didn't understand it at that time. Because the receptionist received an email and was told to pay the tax, but I did not receive the notice at all. The key point was that it was not displayed when I made the appointment. So my decision is to contact customer service to solve the problem.

The location was good. Not far away from railway station. It looks good from the outside. It feels like the place is constructed in a way to just make look nice from the outside or in pictures, not concerned about the overall quality. The place was congested. The vibe was not good. My money was stolen. I did not feel comfortable or safe there. Not recommended at all.

It was very nice, i liked it a lot. Friendly staff and very clean. There is also a restaurant right next to the hostel were we could eat with a discount. It was very tasteful. There was a nice terrace and a nice kitchen, the beds were comfortable too.

tasty burgers and beautiful terrace. the rooms were also clean and we were very happy with our stay. the personal was also very nice and the hostel was located in a good location, with a train station, restaurants and supermarkets next to you.

Despite asking, 3 people didn't get a blanket and had to sleep without a blanket. Beds were dirty with previous hair. Beds not suitable for people over 1.90m. Bathroom dirty, shower water boiling hot and not adjustable.

It is in the center of Zaandan, at the same time the center is very small, and 15 minutes from the station. There is a square with several businesses at the end of the street, mainly bars and restaurants. And otherwise there is the shopping street which goes back towards the station if you want to have breakfast or bread. The rooms were quite well organized, the bathroom was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, the linen was clean. As is often the case in dormitories it is very hot at night, we left all the windows open and the street was really quiet for sleeping. Check out is late which is great. Very warm welcome from the manager, he is very helpful and ensures that the stay goes well. There is no space or lounge to rest with sofas for example, there is also no dining room even though there is a small kitchen. So eating in bed is really not great and financially it means that you have to spend all three meals outside. No locker to store things or instructions to leave them while waiting for the train.

Beds dirty/hair from previous tenants, 4 people had to sleep without blankets. Additional people were reported but this was ignored (outrageously high price for beds). Even if you arrive as a group, strangers still live in the room!! Very little passage to the beds. Above the bunk beds there is less than 50cm of space to the ceiling! The showers only have boiling hot water. There are only two bathrooms/toilets for the entire hostel. The outside area is also littered, dirty and looks very run down. There is no "ocean" or "city view".
