Reception more than limited When we booked I selected a suite for 4 people with 2 breakfasts (children do not have breakfast) Arriving at the hotel we are charged an extra 160 euros for the children by making us pay for the children's breakfast. Impossible to do otherwise The welcome basket is made up of an apple!!! For a 4 star it’s more than limited… the sauna in the bathroom perfect… but impossible to stop it No bathrobe to go down to the Spa Hair dryer not working... A doorman and a valet are available to customers in the hotel, we wait….. a few minutes but preference will go to the wealthiest customers of the hotel (a popular destination for travelers from the Middle East) we also have the 'I feel like the hotel is theirs!! Unfortunately no exchanges with its customers... Magnificent SPA, perfect breakfast

This hotel is fabulous. I have just experienced the 25 min back massage including neck shoulders arms and hands, almost fell asleep. My husband had the 50 min all over massage and he hurts in places he never knew he had. She had her elbows in his back at one point.. his first massage and didn't know he could ask for it to be more gentle 😂 This hotel is amazing, the food alone is out of this world, I'm a very plain eater but I tried everything and loved it. 5 courses and unlimited salads. The pool was almost empty during the day and after a week i can now swim and also float, I've tried for many years. The tap water is better than bottled and chilled♡ The grand spa has steam rooms and saunas, hot stone beds and a view to die for even on the cloudiest of days, all bedrooms have either a mountain or lake view. 5 minutes from the slopes and a must for the non skier for some pampering relaxation and selfcare, first visit certainly not our last ♡ All staff speak very good english and help in anyway they can to make your stay first class. I cannot fault any part of our stay, even dipped in the lake it was minus 13 outside. Exhilarating. There is a railroad crossing outside the hotel and I found myself waiting for the barrier to go down then up before I crossed 🛤🚂 I booked the mountain tour, we had a superb guide which we booked via the hotel, 4 cablecars later I was 3028m above the clouds in the scorching sun (january) with views to die for. He was very informative and I found out alot about the mountains, things like the trees at ground level can't survive after a certain height and different trees grow as it gets higher. The trees at the top have a cut off point where no trees can survive. The mountain goats turn black in winter to absorb the heat and whilst I was filming from the cable car we managed to see one. Just a couple of things matteus spoke about. Please experience Grand Hotel Zell am See if you can. It was on my bucket list and i didn't even know. Thankyou everyone for making our stay memorable ♡

Over 30 years ago a young, strikingly intelligent, handsome couple with impeccable taste and rock hard abs went to Kaprun for a skiing holiday. Looking at the magnificent architectural splendour of The Grand Hotel as it pierces the lake, they vowed to one day stay there. No idea what happened to that couple, they sound like ******, but we also always fancied staying at The Grand and did so for a week from 20th Feb this year. It is, hands down, one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, which include some of the world's iconic hotels. Our room in the annexe had stunning views out over the lake, and a balcony from which to watch the swans and ducks paddle through the early morning mists. The bathroom was nice, with a large window opening onto the bedroom and a cracking shower with side jets. It could have been a steam shower, but we could not quite work out how to use it and were too lazy to ask reception. The food, served in the lovely lakeside dining room was fantastic, with sumptuous buffet breakfast and five course evening meals, which were an unabashed fine dining experience. Meat, fish and vegetarian alternatives all delicious and beautifully presented. I am not vegetarian but ate mostly vegetarian dishes as they were really that good. The Classic spa and pool, with twin saunas and gym was a delight after a day's skiing and it was fantastic after a dip to chill on the loungers facing out through the curved windows to the lake. The Grand Spa on the 5th floor of the annexe looking out over the lake was an equally ideal place to relax. It has multiple steam cubicles and saunas, but my favourite area was the delightfully named Tepidarium with its contoured, heated, stone benches looking out over the lake. Slight warning for repressed Brits. Costumes are entirely reasonably not allowed and while we were there a gentleman chose to take his exercise parading back and forward on the balcony. It was bloody cold though and the physiological affects were unflattering. It is fine to wear your robe in the Tepidarium and a towel in the cubicles if you feel uncomfortable. Praise also goes to the uniformly excellent and friendly staff, including the minibus drivers who ferry you back and forward from the slopes and the robot waiter in the dining room ( though he was quite quiet and didn't like to chat). All in all my wife and I had a great time. Best skiibg hotel ever and I hope we will be back. Thanks to all the staff who looked after us so well.

The hotel and food was great we had a very relaxing time. My only concern is that the resort as a whole caters far too much on Middle East cliental and leaves certain standards in the eating areas to drop as far as dress code and manners to staff which we observed as rude. Burkas and baseball hats at dinner and anoraks at breakfast in a top class hotel is a put off. Obviously the money roles in but some of the guests do not understand European etiquette and seem oblivious to that. I saw a waiter serving being treated like A 3 rd class citizen and some complaining aggressively. The hotel needs to think do they want European values or not

A special place to spend Christmas. Beautiful lakeside setting. Really lovely staff, all very helpful, attentive and friendly. Hotel is traditionally decorated for Christmas in red and gold. Varied programme of entertainment. Great spa facilities. Food is often nicer than menu descriptions suggest.

From start to Finnish we had a Brillent experience . Hotel is on a Lake with great views. We stayed in the annexe which was 20m from the main building. It had 2 routes to the main building. Under & over land. So no getting wet if it is raining. Room was good bit smaller than the main building but the same decor . The Staff were great. Bruno arranged a Birthday event for my wife in the Celler room. Beautifuly done and laid out. Background music and Live music arranged. 5 course meal and Birthday cake made a special memories. Thank you Bruno. Simona at reception was also very helpful and friendly. Sauna & Spa is very good. Afternoon tea was a good Bonus. Nicole the Shuttle driver was also very helpful. Taking you to exactly where you wanted to go on the mountain. Also very Friendly . Food was exceptional . Plenty of choice served to you by a waiter. Boot room was also good. Room cleaned every day . Coffee/Tea in the room+kettle. Hotel is Very close to the local bars for Apre Ski.

Great hotel: very friendly staff (especially Rimi in the restaurant), lovely setting and excellent service. They organise live music in the restaurant or bar most evenings, which creates a lovely atmosphere. Food is very good, and also very handy to have a shuttle to and from the cable car for skiing. Room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Also loved having the pool and sauna to relax in after skiing. We will definitely be back.
