It is indeed a really good hotel. Good location and a stone throw away from the valley station Sunnegga-Rothorn . And about 10m walking distance from the Zermatt Train Station. We had a family room with an open second floor/attic. The cool thing was that the open area between lower and upper floor was covered with a net that can hold pressure up to 750kg; about 12m2. Kids loved it! Even slept on it for fun. Even our room was towards the end of the hotel corridor, we could still see the Matterhorn really well from the terrace. Hotel staff are extraordinary friendly and attentive; e.g. Laurent; the chef for the breakfast (at least that‘s when we saw him); Laurent is a role model of excellent service and a rather entertaining person on top. Breakfast itself is average/good; not overloaded which actually is a good thing (thinking of food waste); you can order eggs/omelettes in addition which is included. Spa area is excellent; though here the only „but“: the swimming apparatus in the pool was out of order (how cool actually to have one!); on top on the whirlpool in the hot tub was only working half and finally the steam bath was also out of order. That almost lost them a star in my rating. Main reason: I was told that all three have been out of order for a while. I believe the hotel manager should take care of these things in a more speedy manner. Because; I can say the indoor swimming pool, spa and small fitness room are very, very nice. Warm water, two different whirlpools, baby swimming pool, 2 saunas, massage place (which we didn’t use); all presented in a very relaxing atmosphere. We also had dinner at the hotel on our first night. Food was good and well presented, the wine by the glass choices were in my opinion above-average in quality. They don’t have a huge menu but what was striking was the fact that they offer some really good vegetarian dishes; not very common in the village in my opinion.
