The hotel is so beautiful! I really enjoyed staying here. It is in a secluded area, so its about 30 mins to 东门 and an hour to 大峡谷, but I really didn't mind that because the room was so clean, spacious and comfortable. The view was also perfect especially during sunset (the trees will look kinda orangey)! The guys were very helpful and carried my insanely heavy luggage up the flight of stairs. The washing machine/dryer was also clean and working well! Detergent is also provided. I enjoyed the breakfast, which was a mini buffet style spread consisting of porridge, bread, fried rice, mantous and some side dishes. I like it and it was very filling! Check out was at 12, but the guy kindly let me stay until 6.30pm as my flight was at night. Note that this was possible because the room was not booked after my stay. I was so thankful because at least I got a good rest before my red eye flight, and I didn't have to rush back from the grand canyon. I highly recommend this accommodation. You won't regret it!

The room decor is simple but clean. The shower had great hot water pressure, which was comfortable. Most importantly, the owner was incredibly warm and helpful, offering breakfast and dinner (for an additional, reasonable fee) which tasted great! The cured sausage and bacon were delicious! They guided us on sightseeing routes, and when we asked, they even helped us find a local guide, so we barely had to queue anywhere. After our evening excursions, they picked us up and brought us back to the guesthouse. They also tried their best to help us find discounted tickets. Overall, it was excellent! Here are a few suggestions: 1. It's best to bring traditional ethnic clothing; the owner's wooden house and the mountain view from the front are perfect for photos! 2. Trying to see everything in just one or two days can be tiring. If you can arrange to stay here for 3-4 days and take your time, it would be much more relaxing! 3. In the next 1-2 years, this area will be redeveloped, and the only guesthouses left will be those on the mountainside costing over a thousand yuan a night. It's definitely worth coming to see it now. 4. They have mountain spring water piped in, which is great for boiling for tea or washing your face!

GGuest User🏨 XiFuWan Resort Hotel — Wulingyuan, Zhangjiajie (June 12–16, 2025) ⭐ Overall Rating: 5/5 1. Hotel Experience & Unmatched Hospitality My stay at XiFuWan Resort Hotel was truly unforgettable—one of the most heartfelt and sincere displays of hospitality I’ve encountered in all my travels. A family-owned hotel opened in 2024, it makes you feel like a guest in someone’s home rather than a commercial customer. As a solo traveller on a spontaneous trip, I had very little planned. The hotel staff kindly helped secure attraction tickets to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, and ZJJ Grand Canyon, even managing to get them at slightly lower prices than the official sites. The owner—formerly with the Zhangjiajie Tourism Bureau—also provided invaluable advice on routes and timings, tailored to my stay. This made a huge difference in navigating the expansive park efficiently. 2. Cleanliness, Comfort & Amenities The Exceptional Business Double Room was impeccably clean—easily among the cleanest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Rather than a work desk, the room had a lounge table and two chairs by the window, creating a cosy spot to unwind and enjoy the scenery. A wonderful bonus was the complimentary laundry service, which was thoughtful and convenient, especially after outdoor excursions. 3. Generosity & Personal Care I arrived early in the morning and was offered a free early check-in. On departure day, the staff also offered late check-out due to my evening flight, which I truly appreciated. When I felt unwell on my first day, the owner’s father—a retired doctor— kindly offered a medical consultation and continued to check in on me. Their level of attentiveness was deeply moving. To top it off, the hotel gifted all guests a box of fresh local fruits, reflecting their warmth and generosity. 4. Location, Accessibility & Language Support The hotel is located in a fantastic area—peaceful, yet close to numerous eateries, shops, and amenities. The convenience of having everything within walking distance enhanced the entire experience. Despite being in a mountainous region, the hotel features a built-in lift, making it very accessible—something that’s not always common in small towns. For English-speaking travellers, one of the owners is a former English teacher, which made basic communication smooth and reassuring. 5. Community Feel The hotel sits beside a local primary school, which added a lovely, heartwarming touch to the environment. There’s a strong sense of community and kindness, not only within the hotel, but throughout the surrounding area. For those who value authentic, local experiences, this place feels like home. 6. Final Thoughts Although XiFuWan Resort Hotel only began accepting foreign tourists a few months ago, it is an absolute hidden gem that deserves more recognition among international visitors. If you’re considering a stay in Zhangjiajie, I wholeheartedly recommend giving this hotel a try. The care, hospitality, and personal touch truly set it apart. Without a doubt, I’ll be staying here again the next time I return to ZJJ.

GGuest UserBetween the beauty of the natural spaces of this hotel, the perfect amenities, fantastic restaurant and IMPECCABLE service from all staff members this hotel is a no brainer for anyone wanting a relaxing spot with incredible views right from your room that rival any view from within Zhangjiajie Park. Truly, the service provided at this hotel included personalized aid when creating itineraries and excursion recommendations, free driver service to and from airport, train station, park and anywhere else, prompt and easy communication with fantastic and friendly hosts and much more. I know this review seems too good to be real, but I promise, this was my experience with my fiancé in the hotel for three nights. We cannot recommend this place enough.

AAnonymous UserChoosing this hotel for my Zhangjiajie trip was incredibly worthwhile! The room was impeccably clean, the bedding was soft and odorless, and there wasn't a speck of dust in any corner—it was truly comfortable. The most delightful surprise was the view outside the window: rolling green mountains right at my doorstep, and the sunset glow in the evening was absolutely stunning. The orange-red afterglow cast over the mountains was so romantic, I couldn't tear my eyes away. The free airport shuttle service was a lifesaver for first-time visitors to Zhangjiajie! As soon as I exited the airport, I saw the staff waiting, and I didn't have to worry about directions at all; they took me directly to the hotel. It was convenient and thoughtful. The hotel's location is also very handy, and the staff were patient in answering all my questions about subsequent travel plans. My experience was fantastic. From cleanliness to the views and service, everything was top-notch. Thumbs up!

GGuest UserAmazing stay! Hotel is located just steps from baofeng lake which I highly recommend, it’s so beautiful. The hotel itself is very modern, clean and breakfast is very good. Bed is comfortable, towels are incredibly plush and they put free drinks in the room. The best part of the hotel is front desk workers. They are amazing! They made our trip 100 % better. While we knew more or less what we wanted to do, their information and advice made the experience so much more memorable. We asked questions so many times and they answered with a smile and much knowledge and patience each time. I can not thank them enough! They showed and explained everything on the map and we bought all of our tickets through them. They offer great discounts and packages. Thank you so much! And the view right next to the hotel is unbelievable, you will not find a better hotel than this. It’s minutes to drive to the Zhangjiajie park, 35 mins to Grand Canyon. Highly recommend!

XXiaoyaxiaotangyuan、The hotel is very close to Tianmen Mountain cableway, just a few yuan by taxi, so the location is great if you're visiting Tianmen Mountain. There's a shopping mall downstairs. It's close to the road, so there can be a bit of traffic noise, which might be an issue if you're a light sleeper. I wasn't a big fan of the rice noodles at breakfast, but everything else was really good. I'd recommend staying here.

XXYHJNThe room was spotless. The location is excellent, just a short taxi ride from the scenic area entrance, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. A charming little stream runs right by the entrance, offering beautiful scenery, and you can even go down for a paddle. The owner was incredibly kind and went out of their way to thoroughly explain tips for exploring the scenic area. There's also a third-floor terrace, perfect for drying clothes, which offers fantastic views. This is a truly honest review – we had an absolutely wonderful time!

JJess and familyWe booked this hotel since it was closer to Tiamen mountain. Unfortunately the hotel is very far away from everything else and you don’t have any restaurants nearby except for the hotel restaurant. When we booked this hotel we got an offer to get: 1 craftsman beer 100 yuan in didi tickets 2 tickets to an exhibition. Even these we never received, the 100 yuan in didi (taxi) tickets we got when we asked for them and showed them the booking information and even though they saw the booking information in Chinese the didn’t get us the offer that we had paid for. When we arrived at the hotel which is very grand and look very nice upon arrival they greeted us at the car which is expected for a hotel that grand but that was only the first day they did that. All other times when we got to the hotel no one greeted us, they were all busy talking to each other instead. We were a family of 2 adults and 2 kids and even though we booked a family room where they know 4 people was staying they gave us only amenities such as towels etc for 2 people so every day we needed to wait and ask for 2 more towels before we took a shower. We also booked excursions through the hotel to visit Grand Canyon and also Tiamen mountain and paid over 1600 yuan for the whole family with everything included. When we came to Grand Canyon we couldn’t experience what we were there for (the zipline) because it had weight restrictions and when we contacted the sales person from the hotel she didn’t take any responsibility and just blamed everything else instead of saying that she was sorry. The day after we visited Tiamen mountain and here we had also booked a ticket that should have included everything and when we came there it was hidden fees that the sales person from the hotel hadn’t told us. When we contacted her again it was the same response that she blamed everything else instead of taking responsibility for that she hadn’t told us everything that she needed to tell us. No compensation was given by the hotel and no excuse. When we checked ut the staff said that they would be happy if we could give them a 5 star review and my response was that I will give you a review but it’s not going to be 5 star. When they asked us explain why we did and they blamed it on the language barrier which I don’t buy since all the messages and sales were done through translation app and also through WeChat were you can translate into your own language. It would have been so easy for the hotel to say I’m sorry and for example as a compensation from us you can go down to the buffé restaurant to eat dinner but instead they blamed everything else! We are world travelers and have been to different cities both in China and also in different country’s around the world and this is one of the hotel were we feel that they had the worst service we have experienced. When we’re coming back we will not stay here again! A fancy hotel that can not live up to the expectations.

CCharuka⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Truly the Best Stay in Wulingyuan! As a solo traveler, this stay took my trip to another level! A special thanks to the owner, who supported me from the moment I arrived. This is honestly the best place I’ve stayed so far. She helped me with everything—from booking tickets to planning my entire trip. With her proper guidance, I managed to explore all the main attractions within my limited time. Without her help, it would’ve been hard to organize everything so smoothly. I highly recommend booking your tickets directly through the hotel. She arranged my entrance ticket and an unlimited cable car pass at an affordable price, which also saved a lot of time. I didn’t have to wait in long lines—just a quick face scan and everything worked perfectly! Whenever I had a question or small problem, she was always available on text with quick and helpful suggestions. The place itself is affordable, clean, and very comfortable. If you’re visiting Wulingyuan, this place will definitely make your stay easier, happier, and stress-free. Highly recommend it!

GGuest UserAs a traveler who needs to balance online work, this place has surprised me. The whole house smart provides an efficient and convenient environment, and the high-speed network allows me to handle work at any time. The high-end toilet and free drinks are the embodiment of quality life, and the sky garden has become my open-air office, with a broad view and abundant inspiration. Take a walk to the Wulingyuan Marking Gate to relax your mind and body during the work break, exercise at the well-equipped gym in the evening, and the three lovely cats are also good companions to relieve stress. This balance of being able to work efficiently and experience nature deeply allows me to travel and work at the same time.

EEduarda Carvalho[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app. The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one. You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station. [ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations. The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends. There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village. For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate. About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan. Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.
