Zhangjiakou Yunding Miyuan Prince Hotel

The room was great, very functional and warm. Being able to park directly in the underground garage was super convenient, and there was even a cute little playhouse for kids inside. The room was also very quiet.

The location is fantastic, ski-in/ski-out directly onto the 22nd Snow Trail. Even beginners like me don't have to worry! I took the shuttle bus to the First Trail every day, which runs every half an hour, on the dot. It's a quick three-minute ride to the ski equipment hall and the First Trail. On the way back, I could ski from the First Trail back to the 22nd Trail and right to the hotel (this route is great – easy to ski, beautiful scenery, winding but not steep, a very comfortable experience!). Other than the room being a bit small, everything else about the hotel was great. The restaurants downstairs were also quite good, and the breakfast was extensive. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Genting!

The Prince Mi Yuan Hotel offers a shuttle service right from Taizicheng Railway Station. The room was a suite with a separate living area, which was really nice and quite spacious. The bathroom was also great, and the whole place felt clean and tidy, with all the necessary amenities. It's also conveniently located close to the ski resort, making it easy to get around.

An absolutely terrible experience, I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here. First off, the room was incredibly far from the ski slopes, completely negating any 'ski-in/ski-out' feel. Even if you stayed elsewhere and took a taxi in the morning, you'd be closer to the slopes from the roadside than from this hotel. The walk from the lobby to the room was also a trek, and the basement parking garage's signage was a mess. The elevator labeled 'Lobby' was actually quite a distance from the actual lobby. So, I found myself lugging 15kg of ski gear from the parking lot to the lobby, then from the lobby to my room, and finally from my room to the ski slopes. Along the way, there were numerous stairs and many doors that were impossible to open when your hands were full. You can imagine my frustration. Secondly, the service was equally awful. I tried to check in using the self-service machine, but it malfunctioned. So I went to the front desk, and the staff said, 'Got it, just a moment,' and then proceeded to ignore me. They served several people who arrived after me. When I finally asked for an update, they responded, 'What was it you needed again?' The next morning, during check-out, my deposit wasn't refunded. If I hadn't noticed and gone to the front desk to inquire, I'm pretty sure they would have kept the money. As for the room, there's not much to say. It was standard two-star quality, with dirty walls and pillows that flattened instantly. The shower was limited to 15 minutes before the hot water ran out, really testing your speed and efficiency. In short, it was utterly dreadful with absolutely no redeeming qualities.

We stayed in apartment building 8, right next to building 10, where the restaurant and ski rental shop are located. Right outside building 10 is Gondola 22 for Genting Ski Resort, and there weren't many people queuing, so we could just hop on whenever we wanted. We booked a one-bedroom family suite, which was incredibly spacious and fully equipped. The sofa in the living room could even be pulled out into a sofa bed. While in the room, I also read the biography of Mr. Lim Chee Wah, the Malaysian Chinese entrepreneur who is the investor of Secret Garden Genting Resort (including Genting Ski Resort, Genting Hotel, and Secret Garden Prince Hotel) and the only foreign member of the Beijing Winter Olympics Bid Committee. It was fascinating to learn about Mr. Lim's intriguing stories behind establishing Genting Ski Resort and his involvement in Beijing's bid for the Winter Olympics (Genting Ski Resort was the venue for many snow events in the Zhangjiakou zone of the Beijing Winter Olympics). Special commendation goes to Ms. Yi Ying from the front desk. Her service was incredibly thoughtful. She added us on WeChat right after check-in and answered all our questions, making us feel right at home during our stay.

This is a true ski-in/ski-out hotel, with the slopes and lift 22 right downstairs. It's the perfect choice for both daytime skiing and night sessions. The main draw is the incredible value for money, especially the stay-and-ski packages which are an amazing deal. The Genting slopes are wide and long, absolutely ideal for practicing your moves!

Five-star rating for the staff! Liu Qianqian helped me with a late checkout because I had to wait for my child to finish skiing at 4:30 PM, and that late checkout was a lifesaver. BUT, the room I booked dropped in price. Even though it no longer included the yoga experience, it wasn't the exact same package, but seriously, who needs a yoga experience? A lower price is always king! This is definitely the top value-for-money choice in Chongli.

The environment was just so-so, and there was hardly any hot water! The room was really cold; I had to ask the front desk for a heater to warm it up. The humidifier was broken too, and the Wi-Fi was terrible. They said the hot water in the bathroom would last 15 minutes, but you had to wait 40 minutes for it, and then it ran out in just ten minutes. Only the first five minutes were actually hot before it started getting cold.

The hygiene is terrible, the soundproofing is awful, and the room is too small.
