The itinerary was basic, but the hotel was anything but. We stayed at a truly elegant hotel on the other side of the Xiaodong River. I pondered for a long time what words to describe it. It had a wabi-sabi feel, yet the details were human and warm. It had a traditional style, yet the rooms reflected a technological and modern aesthetic. Finally, I realized this might be the ”quality” we were looking for. It's said that the owner had previously worked as a teacher, then achieved financial independence by starting a tech company. In his 50s, he built a hotel, freed from worldly scrutiny and able to design and operate it to his own taste. In the evening, I sat in the lounge, enjoying a rich cocktail, listening to the graceful guzheng music, and observing the beautiful young women. All my emotional wrinkles were smoothed out, leaving behind a stable core. Not only the food and accommodation, but also the hotel's cultural experience programs were thoughtfully curated. The hotel also has its own dock with direct access to the Xiaodong River Visitor Center on the other side. Riding on a bamboo raft, the river breeze caressed my face, making me feel that life is beautiful and life is precious.

The store specially prepared disinfectant wipes for me, a person with a clean freak habit, which really warmed my heart. Environment: The whole family praised it! The design makes good use of the space, and the overall effect is upscale and atmospheric while retaining just the right amount of warmth and comfort. Looking out from the balcony is a landscape painting, so beautiful! The location is in the Bailang Scenic Area, upstream of Dongjiang Lake, where you can take a boat ride or travel around the lake. Due to my carelessness, I booked two rooms for one night instead of two nights. The store handled it quickly according to my needs and upgraded us to a larger room with better layout and wider view for free. I deeply felt the joy of being valued! Thankful for the encounter! Once you enter the room, it is clean and tidy, and the layout is very warm, giving you a homely feeling. Although the facilities are not super luxurious, they are complete and easy to use. I have to praise the lady at the front desk, she is very enthusiastic! She was thoughtful and turned on the air conditioner in advance. Seeing that there were three of us staying, she proactively replenished toothbrushes, disposable slippers and water. She was very responsible. At first I thought she was the boss, but later I found out that she was not. It was really worry-free for the boss to have such responsible employees. The lady also contacted me in advance to tell me the detailed route. After checking in, she also shared many niche attractions and food tips that only locals know.
