Hotel Zuri by Fassbind

I booked this hotel for a night. We checked in around 8pm at room 601 and we found out that the temperature in the room was quite hot so before we went out for dinner we just turned it to 20°c which is the minimum. After we came back room, we still found that the room was still hot and the temp on the screen was shown as 24.5°. Then, we went to the front desk to tell them that maybe the A/C had problem but the staff said that their A/C works different from normal A/C, they call it “Cooler”! So, we told them this is not right because on the website exactly shows “A/C not Cooler”. Then the staff went to check the temperature in my room with a thermometer in front of the cooler in my room and it was shown 23.8° which that time we set it on 20° for over 3 hours! We asked them to check if there was any available room to change. First, they said the hotel was quite full and if they gave us another room and the cooler still didn’t work what they can do for us. Then they said they have fans if we are ok (30cm width fans), so I told them we were 3 persons, is it possible if we can get 3 fans. And they said “yes“. After that they told us they can move us to room 701 so we checked and we felt it quite better but still hot so we asked them can we get the fans. This time they told us they can only give us 1 fan because they have only 3 fans. I have to explained them again that first thing you said you had A/C but then turned out as “cooler”, second thing you accepted that you will give us 3 fans, third we paid for the room with A/C which is the price is higher than non-A/C room in other hotels. So, they gave us 2 fans finally. However, the room was clean and good for staying in winter according to the “cooler” really good works for “heater”! And thank you that solved the problem without saying sorry and making us felted like we were guilty to not able to sleep with that temp. (That night the temp outside the room was hotter than inside so we couldn’t open the windows) The temp is still hot till we checked out. The bathroom door is not completely closed as well Bad impression.

The front desk staff is very polite and helpful. Unfortunately, when I arrived the AC in the whole hotel is out of service. However, I got an upgrade in my room. The location is very convenient, you will need to walk 6 mins to reach the closest transport. For cleanliness, the bathroom was ok, but I found at least 7 hairs on the bed and pillows. At night I heard sounds from the toilet. I have inspected it, it is caused by the LED light in the light box. It is basically flickering every 5 mins. The left bottom of the desk has a very sharp corner, it is easy to hit your knee. the room does not have any drinks offered in the fridge. It does not have a toothbrush or toothpaste. It has only a bottle of shampoo mixed conditioner and a bottle of shower gel. Overall is good.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience, with the location being a standout feature. The cleanliness was decent, though I did find some stray hairs on the bed, a minor downside. Despite this, the location makes it a good choice for budget-conscious travelers in Zurich.

Unfortunately it was quite disappointing as the receptionist was in bad attitude as we arrived early in the morning by flight, even we saw lots of people checking out, they didn’t allow us to check-in early until check-in time! And especially the lady at receptionist showed her cold face, it was disastrous!

Perfect stay for our little family for all the 3 nights. Staff was very attentive to all my requests and very accommodating. Communication was good, staff can speak english well. will come back again thank you so much!

As a group of 10 we arrived to the hotel at about 1pm + noon, the staff allowed us to check in earlier (check in is at 3pm), which we much appreciated. The hotel’s location is about 8 minutes walking distance to the nearest train station (Hardbrucke), which is a few minutes to HB Zurich station. There’s also a tram station just around the corner to the hotel which basically takes you to anywhere conveniently. There’s supermarkets (coop & migros) at about 8-10mins walk. The room’s air con is cool enough, we were glad it functioned well after reading some comments that it didn’t work. The only downside is probably the cleanliness of the room, there’s a slight odour in the room, that doesn’t bother us that much though, but there were hairs on the bedsheets and pillows and hand prints on the mirror. The mattress and pillows are too soft to sleep with. The breakfast included in our rates was simple, nothing fancy but good enough if you just need a quick bite and a cuppa before your exploring adventure of the city.

A good option for its price. Rooms look fresh, the space is fine for 1 person, if more could be tight.

Overall is good. Easily access by tram, only 3-4 stops aways from main station. Walk distance is about 15mins. Hotel room is clean, street view. Staff are helpful and friendly. Corner have a nice sausage restaurant. Worth to try if want to get a simple meal or snack something simple. Coop is just 5mins walk.

Nice and clean . Not exactly in city center but easily accessible via Tram .
