EuroParcs Hoge Kempen

What a lovely park! We stayed in a cottage and it had everything we could wish for. A special mention for the fly screens in all the windows! Lovely! The cottage was spotlessly clean! The staff were all equally friendly. But the girls from the entertainment team really took the cake. These three ladies really made our holiday. Mini disco, fun games, cool craft activities,... nothing was too much for them. We went on daily trips from the park. The park is really ideally located for that and very central. (Blotenvoetenpad, Maastricht, Hasselt, C mine, Maasmechelen, Roermond, Prehisto, Tongeren,... they all passed by.) And when the sun finally came out we could splash around in the swimming pool or the spray park. The only downside was the shop. It could be more extensive. But going shopping in Genk is no punishment either. They will definitely see us back!

There was a large stain in the sofa on arrival... we received an email from the manager "how was your first day" and we responded. But nothing came back, so it was a fake good feeling email!. Our stay was unexpectedly one day shorter, but that was for family reasons... apart from that, the park looks good and well cared for. However, the chalets are too small... it's like "mass is cash register" but with a modern twist. Good for one time!

EuroParcs Hoge Kempen is a great base for walking and cycling in the Hoge Kempen National Park. In addition, cities such as Genk, Hasselt, Sint Truiden, Tongeren and Maastricht are easily accessible. Even Liège is about a 40-minute drive away. You can do outlet shopping in Maasmechelen. The holiday park is in full development, but there is plenty to do, especially during the holidays. Outside the holidays it is quiet in the park. The house is a Thor cottage for a maximum of 6 people (number F27), is comfortably furnished and fully equipped. Although the garden is not yet completely finished, you can still relax on the large veranda. Various types of birds regularly pass by and sometimes a squirrel. The house is highly recommended, it is clean and tidy and even has some facilities for the smaller children (children's toilet seat, children's crockery and cutlery, etc.). The brasserie is not yet open every day, but in Zutendaal and the adjacent Munsterbilzen there are some eateries and chip shops (chip shop Heidi in Munsterbilzen is very good). Groceries can be done in Zutendaal, about 1.5 km from the holiday park.

We chose a house ourselves which we really liked. The house is clean and the appearance matches the photos. The bushes are not yet fully grown, so you do not yet have complete privacy. We also had a delicious meal at the brasserie with friendly staff. You can sit comfortably on the terrace. Because our house was located next to the forest, a wild deer came to visit every now and then. The two of us had a nice and relaxing time.
