These varieties are relatively scarce nationwide, especially the white magnolia, which is famous for its fragrance.

Best Viewing Period

The best viewing period for magnolias is from March to April each year. In the early stage, the buds are just beginning to bloom, and the white petals dot the branches. In the middle stage, the magnolias are in full bloom, forming a spectacular sea of flowers. In the late stage, the petals begin to fall, creating a dreamy white rain curtain.

jiuZhaiGou Beautiful Fairytale World

Jiuzhaigou is a famous scenic area located in Zhangzha Town, Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is named after the nine Tibetan villages within the valley, though only three of these villages are currently inhabited. The valley is filled with pristine forests and numerous lakes of varying sizes, offering unique scenery throughout the four seasons. Known as a "beautiful fairytale world," Jiuzhaigou is home to diverse flora and fauna, including rare wildlife like giant pandas. Its snow-capped peaks, untouched forests, crystal-clear lakes, Tibetan villages, and traditional cultural elements create a distinctive cultural and natural landscape. Key areas within the valley include Shuzheng Valley and Zechawa Valley. Jiuzhaigou's natural beauty and cultural charm complement each other, with each season offering unique scenery. The vibrant lakes and reflections of snow-capped mountains in autumn and winter are particularly captivating, providing visitors with a poetic and picturesque experience. The Nuorilang Waterfall is one of Jiuzhaigou's most famous landmarks, located in the Rize Valley section. It is one of Sichuan's largest waterfalls, standing at an altitude of 2,365 meters, with a width of 270 meters and a height of 24.5 meters. As one of China's major travertine waterfalls and the widest waterfall in the country, it presents a magnificent natural spectacle. Since Jiuzhaigou's opening hours are typically from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, a two-day itinerary is recommended to fully experience the beauty and attractions of the area. Considering the vast size of Jiuzhaigou, with its widely distributed lakes, waterfalls, forests, and Tibetan villages, a one-day visit may not allow for a comprehensive tour. It’s indeed a bit regretful not to have explored all the scenic spots in Jiuzhaigou this time, especially given its breathtaking beauty and the unique charm of each site. However, this leaves something to look forward to for the next visit! #travelanywhere #jiuzhaigou #travelchina #travel #china

Just after leaving the house, I found a magnificent temple by the roadside... I checked the map and found out its name is Dongga Temple. Feeling inspired, I decided to go up the mountain. The scenery at the top is really beautiful, with a vast sky and clouds, offering an unobstructed view. The temple exudes a sense of understated luxury from the outside to the inside, with various statues of deities inside... There were also lamas chanting scriptures with great concentration. Although it has been around for 500 years, compared to the bustling F Academy, it feels a bit obscure... even a bit desolate... But I quite like it here, with its peaceful and serene atmosphere... The national road from Seda to Ganzi completely exceeded my expectations... No wonder some people call Route 317 the 'Road of Hell.' Not only is it at a high altitude, but it's also full of sharp, winding mountain roads with cliffs on one side and steep slopes on the other, making the drive heart-pounding... But the scenery is truly beautiful, offering an endless view at the peak... Snow-capped mountains, grasslands, lakes, surrounded by clouds and mist. I deeply regret not bringing my pocket camera to capture it all... The section from Ganzi to Dege was not favored by the weather, with some drizzling rain, so I couldn't capture the best state of Yulong Laco (Xinlu Lake) as I passed by... The rain got heavier and heavier, so instead of rushing, I decided to have a cup of roaming coffee ... Today's insights: * I didn't do enough research. After leaving Seda, I should have taken the Ganbai Road to see Yaqing Temple. I hesitated at the intersection but ultimately took Route 317, mainly considering the electric car's range... * The second hesitation today was at Zhashi Teling Temple, whether to take a detour to Cuotong Cui Lake. The guide said the road conditions were poor, and I was worried about tire damage from gravel and the low ground clearance... So I gave up, feeling a bit regretful... An off-road vehicle would have been better.

SICHUAN’S CUISINES

I’ve now lived in China for 7 months and have luckily been enjoying a lot of good food since I arrived. I am based in Chengdu in the Sichuan Province. As China is so big the food from different regions varies a lot! I’ve found the food in Chengdu to be absolutely delicious even though its known to be the spiciest in China! I wanted to share with you all the amazing Chinese food in Chengdu I’ve had the pleasure of eating in the last months and hopefully won’t make you hungry. 🥘🥟🥟🍲🇨🇳 ♦️ Dry Pot, or GānGuō, is the ultimate ALL THE FLAVORS ALL THE TIME dish of Chengdu. The crispy fried goodness hits you in the face with a spicy, tingling, umami punch. It is packed with potatoes (let’s be honest they’re basically French fries), veggies, peanuts, all the spices you can think of and your choice of meat(s). ♦️ Sichuan Hot Pot- Sichuan hotpot, like most of the cuisine in this humid and populous province, is numbingly spicy. The broth is flavored with chili peppers and other strong-tasting herbs and spices. ♦️ Chengdu pork baozi -Fresh pork meat with fat are minced and then mixed with deep-fried pork cubes. Then sichuan peppercorn, ginger sauce, chicken stock and cooking wine are used to flavor the meat filling. ♦️ Zhong’s Dumplings - Zhong’s Dumplings could be dated back to the Qing Dynasty (1893). What is so special about Zhong’s Dumplings is that its stuffing is purely pork without any vegetables. It is served with red chili oil, tasting slightly sweet, salty and spicy. ♦️Spicy Wontons in Red Oil – Serve with or without the spicy soup for an authentic hole-in-the-wall diner vibe ♦️Vegan Dan Dan Noodles / Dan Dan Noodles – A tribute to the street peddlers that sold them from baskets carried on their backs, their rich sauce is nutty, spicy and extra fragrant, with a hint of sweetness ♦️Pan Fried Peppers ♦️Guo Kui (Scallion Pancakes) ♦️Spicy Peanuts – Grab a handful ♦️Authentic Mapo Tofu / ♦️Eggplant Stir Fry / Grilled ♦️Dry Fried Green Beans #food #foodporn #yum #in #bestislandtraveltowns#romanticrestaurant#seafoodfeast#deserts

Discover the Beauty of Laoniupo

Discover the Beauty of Laoniupo

Leave the city's hustle and bustle behind, and the moment you step onto Laoniupo, you'll realize it's another breathtaking ridgeline, following closely behind Erdaoping. No need to navigate to Yanjing Village Health Center. Just follow the track as you approach Jisan Road. Once you align with the intended route, park freely in any roadside clearing. Parking fees are flexible, ranging from free to CNY 10. Embark on the 9-plus km loop. The first half boasts clear paths and picturesque views. Farmlands, colorful forests, firethorn bushes, and vast stretches of what appear to be reeds (perhaps Miscanthus or Triarrhena—let's not get bogged down) unfold before you. You'll likely encounter fellow hikers along the way. At the highest point, a farmhouse restaurant offers delicious meals like firewood chicken, wild vegetables, and stir-fries. It's said to be the peak of the Longquanshan Mountains. The second half involves navigating between paved roads and jungle trails. Some sections are slightly hidden, requiring a bit of exploration, and you'll encounter fewer people. Watch your step, as cut tree stumps litter the ground and can easily trip you up. Stay focused as you proceed.

If you missed Nianbaoyuze, you can't miss Lianbaoyeze.

If you missed Nianbaoyuze, you can't miss Lianbaoyeze.

Billions of years ago, the Bayan Har Mountains rose from the collision of the Indian and Eurasian plates. The famous Three Rivers Source originates here. On its east side, there is a branch that spans the border of Qinghai and Sichuan. The Qinghai side is called Nianbaoyuze, and the Sichuan side is called Lianbaoyeze. What many people don't know is that in Tibetan, these two names are just different dialects and accents, referring to the same breathtaking beauty. Snow-capped mountains, glacial lakes, strange peaks, and strange stones The scenery is magical, magnificent, and dangerous. For a long time, Nianbaoyuze has been famous for its unique beauty, and tourists have been in an endless stream, which has endangered the environment of the Three Rivers Source area. In 2018, in order to protect the ecological environment, the Nianbaoyuze Scenic Area was closed indefinitely. At the same time, Lianbaoyeze, which has always lived under the light of Nianbaoyuze and existed as a "spare tire", was pushed to the C position. Walking among the mountains, the green mountains are undulating like waves, and the snow on the top of the mountain is white, reflecting the blue sky and white clouds, which is so beautiful that it is intoxicating. The lake is like a mirror, reflecting the majestic mountains. The breeze blows, and the water ripples, as if nature is whispering. Under the wide-angle lens, the mountains are magnificent and the details are rich; the telephoto can capture the towering peaks in the distance. With the help of drones overlooking from the sky, the mountains of Lianbaoyeze are like the fingerprints of the earth, scattered and orderly, and the lakes are inlaid with jade, which is breathtakingly beautiful!
