Nara's hydrangea season has arrived, with the optimal flower-viewing period extending from mid-June to mid-July. Hase-dera temple, known as the "Temple of Flowers," is home to over 3,000 hydrangea bushes displaying a vivid array of colors; in particular, the approach to the main hall and the area surrounding the five-storied pagoda offer excellent settings for photography. Yada-dera temple, referred to as the "Hydrangea Temple," features approximately 60 species comprising around 10,000 hydrangea bushes that blanket the entire temple grounds in a spectacular display. Oka-dera temple, located in Asuka Village, houses about 3,000 hydrangea bushes whose presence enhances the serene atmosphere of the ancient temple, with the hydrangeas lining the stone steps serving as an ideal backdrop for photographs. Maken Hills Park, which offers free admission, showcases 4,000 hydrangea bushes, making it one of Nara's most popular destinations for flower viewing. Nara's hydrangea season offers not only stunning natural scenery but also a rich cultural experience, rendering these sites excellent choices for both capturing memorable photographs and gaining deeper insights into Japan's floral traditions.

Nara's cherry blossoms 🌸

Nara's cherry blossoms 🌸

You can also see cherry blossoms in Nara. There are many beautiful cherry blossoms in Todaiji Temple and Nara Park. Moreover, not only can you see cherry blossoms, but you can also see the cute appearance of deer under the cherry blossom trees. However, when taking photos, you still need to stay a little further away, as the deer in Nara can be quite aggressive. There's really no need to squeeze into the super popular spots to see cherry blossoms in Japan. Nara doesn't feel too crowded and you can still get close to nature. It's great.

Todai Ji Temple - Nara

Todai-Ji Temple is a popular landmark which you should visit if you are in Nara. It tis extremely Impressive and considered the worlds largest wooden structure. It is so convenient that this site was walking distance from the metro station, and also it is close to other places of interest. The whole visit, including walking around and taking pictures should last between 1 to 2 hours. The temple is really well preserved and is a pleasure to see in person. This place should be a priority in your trip as it’s part of the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This place is open everyday from 8am to 5pm. #createwithtrip #japan #holidays #exploring #createwithtrip

Just returned from a day trip to Nara with a nanny-level itinerary and minefield guide

Just returned from a day trip to Nara with a nanny-level itinerary and minefield guide

🙆‍♂️I just came back from Nara recently I've organized all the strategies and minefield guides ✅For your reference for a day trip ▶️The 4 must-visit places in Nara are basically connected, Nara Park (Royal Deer Garden), Todai-ji (world-class wooden architecture), Wakakusa-yama (overlooking the entire city of Nara, and there are more deer and fewer people, highly recommended), and Kasuga-taisha (world-class garden landscape) · ✅Suggested itinerary Nara Park->Kasuga-taisha->Todai-ji->Wakakusa-yama Although this route involves a bit of backtracking, it allows you to save the best sunset time for Wakakusa-yama, trust me, it's really, really worth it! (For strategies on Wakakusa-yama, see my previous note) · 🚗Transportation From Osaka to Nara, take the train and get off at Kintetsu Nara Station If possible, be sure to choose the express line! Because the express line is at least 40 minutes faster than the regular line · 🌸Specific time schedule ▶️9:30 Depart from Osaka . ▶️10:10 Arrive at Kintetsu Nara Station Exit 2, right out to the shopping street, where you can buy a sandwich for breakfast . ▶️10:20 Go to Kofuku-ji Free admission, one of the seven great temples of the Southern Capital in neon lights . ▶️11:10 Go to Gango-ji Free admission, one of Nara's national treasures and World Heritage Sites, and one of the few five-story pagodas preserved to this day . ▶️12:00 Go to Nara Park There are too many people here, and the deer are all well-fed and mostly lying down, so I personally suggest solving lunch here . ▶️14:00 Kasuga-taisha From here, it starts to be very, very photogenic, with lush greenery filling your eyes, and many little deer shuttle through the stone monuments, mysterious and cute! If you have deer crackers in your hand, they will carefully come to your side, and at that time you can take a selfie with them, super cute haha . ▶️15:00 Todai-ji World-class wooden architecture! Those who like architecture really shouldn't miss it, as you will be amazed by the Great Buddha as soon as you enter the gate . ▶️16:00 Wakakusa-yama Few people and quiet! The deer are very lively! And you can also overlook the entire Nara from the mountaintop! Trust me, you can skip anywhere else, but you must go here! Just go for it with your eyes closed! Especially when the sun sets, the warm sunlight falls on the endless lawn, with a few deer around you, as if you've stepped into the animated world of Makoto Shinkai! So, so, so beautiful❗️Remember to enter from the South Gate! Entering from the North Gate will take an extra half hour!❗️ . ▶️19:00 Return trip . 🙌Minefield nanny guides for other places in Kyoto and Osaka are on the homepage Take what you need ✅Every week, 3~4 niche spots and nanny-level guides are recommended

Nara during Cherry Blossom Season

I've been to Nara 3-4 times, but this is the first time I went during the cherry blossom peak. The whole experience was really amazing, it felt like I was looking at a Japanese landscape painting. It takes about an hour from Osaka to Nara. We arrived around 3 pm, walked towards Nara Park, took our time strolling, taking photos, eating ice cream, and played until about 5 pm before heading back to the train station and watched the sunset 😆 2-3 hours around Nara Park is enough to have a great time. If you have the chance to go to Osaka during the cherry blossom season, I believe Nara Park is a beautiful and convenient choice 😎👍

Nigatsudo todaiji 🙏🛕

#fallingseason #helloautumn #timetotravel To the east of Todaiji Temple, Nigatsudo is a smaller temple also part of Todaiji, but an important complex in its own right. At sunset, it offers one of the most beautiful scenes in all of Nara. You can approach from a path in front of Todaiji, which leads up cobbled steps flanked by ancient stone walls, or from the back of Todaiji, where the path leads to a covered wooden staircase. Either way, as you reach the top, the magnificent wooden structure of the main hall looms above you. As the sun sets and the lanterns are lit, the views over Nara are unbeatable. The Nigatsudo is best known for Omizutori, a fire and water ceremony on March 12 every year, where huge flaming torches are held out from the temple balcony. The next day, sacred water is drawn from a well under the temple, which is said to have healing properties. The ceremony has been held here without a break since 752.

Spring Serenity at Kasuga Taisha: Where History Meets Nature

#japantrip #nara Visiting Kasuga Taisha in spring is a truly enchanting experience. As one of Nara's most significant Shinto shrines, the ancient path leading to the shrine is lined with thousands of moss-covered stone lanterns, each telling a story of centuries past. In spring, the surrounding forest comes alive with vibrant shades of green, while delicate cherry blossoms bloom, adding soft pink hues to the tranquil scenery. The sunlight filters through the tall, sacred trees, creating dappled patterns on the ground and the weathered stone monuments. Along the way, friendly deer roam freely, occasionally approaching visitors for a treat, which adds a magical charm to the serene atmosphere. The harmony between history, nature, and wildlife makes a springtime visit to Kasuga Taisha a truly unforgettable experience.
