Those who haven't been to Hokkaido up north are missing the most beautiful parts of this gorgeous country. The north especially during various seasons transforms into something else. You have it witness it yourself. Like with most other prefectures, you will have plenty of options. Yes, this is going to be slightly more expensive than other places. The Ōta Jinja

It is a mountain sacred site with the oldest history in Hokkaido, and is said to have been founded during the reign of Kakichi (1441-1443) in a cave near the summit of Mt. Ota (485m above sea level), which towers over a cliff. In the past, the Ainu people living in this area called the mountain spirit ''Otakamoi" and worshiped it as the guardian deity of Ezochi. In 1453, Nobuhiro Takeda, the founder of the Matsumae domain, landed in the Ota area and saw the Ainu people praying towards the mountain, so he climbed the mountain himself and discovered that there was a spirit inside the cave. It is said that this belief began in 1454 when he gave the honorific title of 'Ota Daigongen" and spread the word to people widely.

Looking for a perfect summer escape in Japan, where you can beat the heat and take endless photos in gorgeous lavender fields? Welcome to Hokkaido! ❤️ We traveled from Tokyo, taking shinkansen (thanks to our JR Pass) from Tokyo Station to Hakodate, and then onward to Sapporo. If you're short on time, you might want to consider flying directly into Chitose Airport. The moment we arrived in Hokkaido, we felt an immediate sense of comfort. In the summer, Sapporo's temperature was a pleasant 22-23°C, making it the perfect retreat from the heat. 🗓️Itinerary Scheduling Since we only had a few days in Hokkaido, here’s our itinerary: Day 1: Travel to Sapporo via train. Relax and explore the city at a leisurely pace. Day 2: Spend the day in Furano, where the endless lavender fields will leave you in awe. Visit the famous Furano Lavender Field and the vibrant Shikisai no Oka, known for its beautiful flower gardens. You’ll want your camera ready for this one! Day 3: Start the day with a visit to the Asahi Beer Museum and then indulge your sweet tooth at Shiroi Koibito Park. Afterward, take a trip to the charming coastal town of Otaru before heading back to Tokyo. #japantrip

My favorite place in Hokkaido besides Otaru A tranquil seaside town like this Can definitely gain more recognition in Hokkaido There are no specific attractions, just wandering around will surprise you I really resist the kind of stressful itinerary where you have to take photos and edit them everywhere Strolling around casually and relaxing Everywhere is naturally beautiful, making you feel happy and refreshed I really recommend everyone to come and spend two days here One day is really not enough Also, the seaside wind is indeed very strong, it feels colder than Sapporo and Otaru As for the Joker Burger... it doesn't taste very good, I kind of miss the McSpicy Chicken Burger

【Hokkaido】Popular Sandwiches.

This is a shop called 'Graubunden' located in Niseko, Hokkaido. 📍 2-6, 5-jo 4-chome, Hirafu, Kutchan-cho, Abuta-gun, Hokkaido This shop is famous for its sandwiches, where you can enjoy delicious and hearty sandwiches. You can choose the type of bread and add your favorite toppings! Many of the customers are foreigners, so you can feel like you're abroad. You can also enjoy cookies and cakes labeled 'NISEKO' after your lunch. We always share the sandwiches and finish with dessert. There's a bus stop nearby, so it's easy to visit! The photo shows a morning-only set, with chiffon cake added after the meal!

This time, I would like to introduce a recommended place in Sapporo, Hokkaido! This is a shrine located in Hokkaido, and it is very spacious and highly recommended. Amazing Hokkaido

Amidst the vibrant hills of Biei, I wandered through fields of blooming lavender and sunflowers, their colors bursting under the clear blue sky. The sweet scent of flowers enveloped me as I snapped photos, capturing nature’s palette. Later, in Sapporo, the aroma of miso ramen filled the air. I savored each slurp, watching locals bustle by. As night fell, the city lights sparkled like stars, blending the beauty of nature with urban charm—a trip I would always cherish.

Shinsen-numa Marsh Parking Lot & Observation Deck

The walking path to the observation deck was not well maintained. There is a path, but you have to push through bamboo bushes that are about as tall as you are, and from the observation deck you can just see a little bit of the scenery through the trees. This is a store that is only open seasonally. In addition to ramen and curry, you can also enjoy soft serve ice cream and coffee at the rest house. It's a little secret spot. Recommended for standing on the drive.
