Introduction Edinburgh’s Ceremony of the Honours

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate

The cannon salute ceremony at Edinburgh Castle is held daily at precisely 1:00 p.m. along the castle walls overlooking the Firth of Forth. Established in 1861 to assist maritime vessels in calibrating their timepieces, the ceremony begins with soldiers explaining to visitors the history and procedures of the cannon salute, followed by the firing of a blank round. Although vessels no longer rely on the salute for time synchronization, the tradition remains a signature experience of the castle and continues to attract tourists to its other historical and cultural attractions.

Fairytale Country pt.2

I’m sorry on my first post, it’s not appropriate since I’m a newbie here. Let me share about my experience during stay in Edinburgh. If you want to continue your study, it’s not bad to choose Scotland. The country with a great culture, friendly people, best buildings, and many more. You might search on internet how beautiful Scotland is especially the Edinburgh. The weather sometimes is too cold on certain period, and I don’t recommend to come here on winter, because you will not able to go to several places. it’s good to come here on summer, so you will find the best weather here. One more, the foods will not be disappointed #bestislandtraveltowns#themepark#nationalpark

Edinburgh, UK!

Edinburgh, UK!

Edinburgh, UK. No matter the season, the stone buildings in Edinburgh are quite eye-catching, not because they are particularly colorful, but because these houses have been built for so long that the stone surfaces have turned somewhat black. Combined with the local damp and rainy weather, it makes the overall color uneven, which is characteristic of Edinburgh. Whether it's the ordinary streets or the University of Edinburgh, the houses are basically like this. Sitting outside a cafe and having a coffee, you can still look up to see such buildings. The overall impression is one of historical weight and reflects the city's long history.

So much to see at National Museum of Scotland

There are so many interesting and free museums in Edinburgh but if there is only time to see one, I would definitely pick the National Museum of Scotland. The first hall of the museum is in fact a beautiful atrium with balconies on all levels. The exhibits on display include many areas of sciences, including archaeology, astronomy, geology, social science, modern technology and even fashion and history. Many of the displays are interactive and suitable for everyone of all ages. With the weather being so fluctuating and rain coming so frequently, this is a great place to visit even just for an hour! #urbanexplorer #musem #edinburgh #scotland ,

Nelson monument and views from Calton Hill

#ediinsider #scotland #edinburgh The Nelson Monument on Calton Hill is one of the defining features of the Edinburgh skyline, and provides probably the best vantage point for views across the city and beyond. Yet the monument is not just a historic and striking building, because for the past 150 years it has also had an important practical function to perform. The monument was built to commemorate Admiral Lord Nelson, who died at the Battle of Trafalgar during the Napoleonic Wars in 1805.The battle was a victory for the Royal Navy, but Nelson was fatally wounded. When the news reached Edinburgh, a group of subscribers banded together to raise funds for a monument to express their gratitude to the Admiral.

Edinburgh - Scotland’s Capital

#eurotrip #passionpassport I think that Edinburgh is a very authentic city, where you can walk for hours and immerse yourself in its streets with a marked neo-Gothic style. You pass through the Old Town and reach the port of Leith without the architecture changing. You only need to leave the old town to see that, unlike in other capitals, it is not just a few pretty streets, but rather the entire city transports you to other times. We also have the New Town, a huge neighborhood of neoclassical style characteristic of Edinburgh. Both environments have been a World Heritage Site since 1995. In addition, being a small city, it allows visitors to explore the entire center without having to take public transport and this makes it an interesting destination for those who come to spend many days or just a Weekend. The first thing I suggest to all first-time visitors to Edinburgh is to pop into our museums and art galleries. We have a good number of buildings where admission is free. Centers such as the National Museum of Scotland; the Edinburgh Museum; the Scottish National Art Gallery, where we find Old Woman Frying Eggs by Diego de Velázquez, or the National Portrait Gallery, dedicated exclusively to portraits and photographs. Of course, we cannot forget St. Giles Cathedral, on the Royal Mile, in the heart of the city, which will reveal the history of the Presbyterian Church, the majority religion in Scotland.

Royal Mile Scotland

It's cool how you have a guide on your phone and you can browse around the Royal Mile. It was nice to walk and see the history of Scotland. If you're starting at the castle, then it's quite a trek up but when walking down to the Scottish Parliament, it's all down hill. But it obviously is uphill on the way back. But it's nice. And we got the privilege of hearing some bagpipe on the way. :) Its a good place for a small historic walk! #themepark#nationalpark

Greyfriars Kirkyard, Edinburgh, Scotland

#ediinsider 🕍I have visited so many different tourist destinations in my life, but never have I ever come across any tourist attraction which is a graveyard (believe it or not!). ⚰️Greyfriars Kirkyard is a graveyard located in the Old Town of Edinburgh, Scotland and an active burial ground since late 16th century. 👻If you are like me and you enjoy exploring spooky, haunted, or simply interesting places, then you must visit this place. Another reason to visit this place especially for Harry Potter fans would be to visit Tom Riddle aka Voldemort's real grave which inspired JK Rowling. #edinburgh #tripblazers #hiddengems #edinburghstory

Enjoy Sunset on Blackford Hill

It’s been a long time since the last post. I wasn't doing any photos for a while and I missed this. I finally decided to go out with my camera yesterday to enjoy the sunset from Blackford Hill.
