Helicopters over volcanos

#grouptravel Helicopter tours are everywhere on the Big Island Hawaii. But it really can be a special experience to do this with your group or family. Our helicopter held 6 guests so not the largest available but a comfortable size for our group. Flying over the volcanoes and coastline and sharing in the excitement with my special people was something I will never forget. Getting There - Our helicopter left from Hilo airport. Next to the commuter terminal. If you stay on the Kona side of the island it’s about a 1.5 hr drive over the saddle road (one of big islands best maintained roads) Attractions - volcanoes, lava devastation, waterfalls, desert and rainforests are all items you will see in the hour long flight. After the helicopter ride you can also make your way to Volcano National Park for an up close look at the sites. Cost - $$$$ the helicopter ride was about $250AUD each and worth every cent. Or entry to Volcanoes National Park is $30 for 7 days. Food & Restaurants - Volcano House Shopping - numerous gift shops throughout the visitor centre and volcano house. #grouptravel #familytravel #gooutside #passionpassport

Big Island, Hawaii - heaven on earth 😍🌳

Big Island, Hawaii - heaven on earth 😍🌳

Big island or Hawaii island is the biggest island in the chain and one of the most beautiful, it is famous for it’s beaches, coffee and of course it’s active volcanoes. We spent a week there during a long trip to California, it’s a 6 hour flight from Los Angeles and there are plenty of hotel options around the bigger settlements. We opted for an air B&B to have a more laid back experience, food can be very expensive on the island so we stocked up at a Walmart just after we landed and made sure we had enough food for the week. It’s best to hire a car and take your time exploring the island, you can drive around the island within a day but it’s best to stop as you go and take everything in. There is a 20mph speed limit across most of the island to protect the wildlife but there is hardly any traffic so it’s not an issue. There are beaches across the island worth visiting and there is a very famous green sand beach made out of volcanic rock residue, you can only get to it on tours though so it’s worth checking out the other beaches instead if you are on a budget. A trip to the volcanic national park is definitely worth doing, you can see steam coming out of cracks in the ground and can watch active lava in the volcano from a distance. If you like coffee there are many coffee farms that allow you to pick and roast your own coffee, or even just stop there for a fresh single origin coffee to blow your mind. Overall I loved the island for it’s laid back vibes and it’s really unique offerings, no matter where you go on the island there are interesting sites and the most welcoming people. #timetotravel #hawaii #bigisland #paradise #beachlife #trip #instatravel

Summiting Mauna Kea: A Heavenly Adventure at Hawaii’s Highest Peak

#alohaspirit Mauna Kea, Hawaii’s tallest mountain, offers an adventure that’s as out-of-this-world as the views from its summit. Standing at 13,796 feet (4,205 meters), Mauna Kea isn’t just a mountain—it’s a towering giant that rises above the clouds, offering breathtaking vistas of the Big Island and, on clear days, a rare glimpse of the Pacific Ocean in the distance. The journey to the summit is an unforgettable experience, taking visitors through diverse landscapes—from lush rainforests at the base to barren, otherworldly terrain at the top. Mauna Kea is also home to one of the world’s most advanced observatories, making it a stargazer’s paradise. On a clear night, the view of the stars is unrivaled, thanks to the mountain’s high altitude and low light pollution. While hiking to the summit is a challenge that requires proper preparation and acclimatization, many opt for a guided tour to ensure a safe and informative trip. Along the way, you’ll encounter stunning panoramic views and possibly even catch a glimpse of native wildlife like the Hawaiian monk seal. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a casual traveler, summiting Mauna Kea is an experience that’s truly one for the books.

Mystic Rebirth · Kona Resort

Mystic Rebirth · Kona Resort

〖Holiday Hotel〗Walker Warner / Mystic Rebirth · Kona Resort | Kona Village Kona Resort is located on the island of Hawaii, drawing on the culture and traditions that have been preserved for centuries, bringing a unique "Hawaiian" experience to tourists. The resort covers 81 acres, located in the sacred land where the lava zone and the coastline intersect, with charming geological landscapes and rich natural resources. The redesigned resort draws inspiration from the long history and culture of this land, illuminating the past, present, and future of the ancient Kaʻūpūlehu Lake. (The resort was affected by the tsunami caused by the super-strong earthquake in Japan on March 11, 2011, and was damaged in this devastating tsunami. The Kona Resort Hotel, which opened in the 1960s, also closed as a result.)
