Introduction Ginkgo Viewing in Dengfeng

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
When the autumn wind blows through Dengfeng, the ginkgo trees here are dyed with intoxicating gold. The tall ginkgo trees faded from their emerald green, and under the influence of time, the leaves gradually became golden and translucent, like a dazzling treasure inlaid between heaven and earth.
Walking in Dengfeng, you can see ginkgo trees everywhere. Some of them stand beside the quaint courtyards, contrasting with the gray walls and black tiles; some are rooted in the mountains and forests, contrasting with the verdant pines and cypresses. When the wind blows, the golden leaves on the trees rustle, like thousands of butterflies dancing, and the falling leaves lay a golden carpet. Walking on it, there are crisp sounds under your feet. The sun shines through the branches and leaves, casting mottled light and shadows, adding a bit of hazy beauty to the ginkgo forest. Being in it, you can not only feel the unique charm of the fusion of history and nature, but also indulge in this golden autumn color, and encounter an unforgettable autumn romance.

🇨🇳 Day Trip to Shaolin Temple: Where Kung Fu Legends Are Born

A visit to Luoyang wouldn't be complete without a pilgrimage to the Shaolin Temple, the birthplace of Kung Fu. Located about a 1.5-hour bus ride from the city, it's an easy day trip, allowing you to be back in Luoyang by late afternoon. Shaolin Temple holds a mythical aura. This isn't just a monastery; it's a legendary institution, a cradle of martial arts that has captivated the world. The story goes that the Indian monk Bodhidharma, frustrated by the monks' physical frailty, developed a series of exercises to improve their strength and stamina. These exercises, over time, evolved into the sophisticated martial art we know today as Kung Fu. The temple itself is a sight to behold. The serene atmosphere is palpable, and you can almost feel the history seep into your skin. Watching the monks demonstrate their incredible skills during the kung fu performances was mesmerizing. And if you're feeling particularly adventurous, you might even be invited to try your hand at a few moves on stage – I, unfortunately, lacked the courage! Shaolin Temple's fame soared after the 1982 Jet Li film, "Shaolin Temple," brought its legend to the global stage. More recently, the video game "Black Myth: Wukong" has thrust Shaolin back into the spotlight, captivating gamers worldwide with its stunning visuals and thrilling combat inspired by Shaolin martial arts. A Note on Weather: I visited in early winter, and let me tell you, it gets chilly up there! The temple is situated on a hill, so the wind can be quite strong. Make sure to layer up and pack a warm jacket. Getting There: Numerous tour operators in Luoyang offer day trips to Shaolin Temple. If you're based in Xi'an or Zhengzhou, you can also find tours departing from those cities, although the journey will be longer. A visit to Shaolin Temple is an unforgettable experience. It's a chance to witness the birthplace of a legendary martial art, to soak in the serene atmosphere of a historic monastery, and to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and history. #ShaolinTemple #KungFu #ChinaTravel #Luoyang #TravelBlog #china

World Cultural Heritage - Qimu Que

World Cultural Heritage - Qimu Que

Qimu Que, also known as Kaimu Que, is located at the foot of Wansui Peak on the southern slope of Mount Taishi in Dengfeng City, Zhengzhou, Henan Province. It is the spirit way que in front of Qimu Temple, built in the second year of Yang Guang (123 AD) by Zhu Chong, the governor of Yingchuan, and is known as one of the 'Three Han Que of Zhongyue' along with Taishi Que and Shaoshi Que. Qimu Que is carved and built from stone, consisting of two separate que to the east and west, with the existing height being 3.17 meters. On the north side of the western que, there are two inscriptions. One is the Qimu Que inscription in seal script; the other is the Rain Prayer inscription, written in clerical script below the Qimu Que inscription by Tang Xi Dian. The body of the que is carved with scenes of horse taming, horseback riding, acrobatics, magic, elephant training, Guo Ju burying his son, Yu the Great transforming into a bear, dismounting from a horse, hunting, a tiger chasing a deer, double dragons, images of the Moon Palace, and Cuju (ancient football). The top of the que is carved with architectural components such as tile ridges, tile ends, flat tiles, and hanging ridges. Among them, the image of women playing Cuju is an important physical evidence that football originated in China. The carving art of Qimu Que has high historical, artistic, and scientific value and holds an important position in the history of world historical epigraphy and stone carving. The architectural components carved on the top of the que provide physical evidence for the study of Han Dynasty architecture. On March 4, 1961, Qimu Que was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units; On August 1, 2010, the historical architectural complex of Dengfeng 'Center of Heaven and Earth', which includes Qimu Que, was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site.

Shaoshi Mountain

Shaoshi Mountain

Shaoshi Mountain, with its main peak Liantian Peak, also known as Zhaixing Tower, is 1,512 meters above sea level and is the highest peak of Songshan Mountain. Shaoshi Mountain is a key scenic spot in Songshan National Forest Park, and Shaolin Temple National AAAAA Tourist Scenic Spot is located in it. Because it is located in the dense forest of Shaoshi Mountain in the hinterland of Songshan Mountain, it is named "Shaolin Temple". Shaoshi Mountain is opposite to Taishi Mountain in the east, about 10 kilometers away from Taishi Mountain. Shaolin River originated from here. It is said that the second wife of King Xia Yu, the sister of Tushan, lived here. People built a temple at the foot of the mountain to respect her, so the mountain is called "Shaoshi".

The place is huge! There are three places you can enjoy for 80rmb per person entrance fee. There are many available tour guides to help you . It will cost you 300rmb for English and 200rmb for (Chinese). Well, going to places are more convenient with tour guides but you can explore there by yourself especially with friends. And once you paid, don’t forget to take screenshots of the code.
