There are many magnificent ginkgo landscapes in Kyoto, Japan. The golden colors of Nishi Honganji and Higashi Honganji have their own atmospheres. There is a huge ginkgo tree in Nishi Honganji that is nearly 400 years old and is called the "reverse ginkgo". Because its growth direction is opposite to that of ordinary ginkgo, its branches, like roots, extend as far out as possible, as if trying to support the entire sky. The golden ginkgo avenue of Higashi Honganji still decorates the temple beautifully and elegantly. The ginkgo trees that slightly poke their heads out from the ancient monuments are full of poetry. There are also Fokoji Temple, Imamiya Shrine, Kyoto Imperial Garden, etc., which are also great places to enjoy ginkgo.
