Wugong Mountain: A Place You'll Want to Visit Again

The innkeeper at Wugong Mountain has informed us that the temperatures are gradually dropping, and the mountain is entering the peak season for sea of clouds. If you're eager to witness this natural spectacle, it's a good idea to check the weather with him in advance. This photo of the sunset and sea of clouds was taken on September 12th. Climbing the mountain was exhausting, but after some rest, the desire to return is irresistible. #WugongMountain #WugongMountainHiking #WugongMountainTeam #WugongMountainWeather #WugongMountainSunrise #WugongMountainAccommodation #YoungHikers #BeautyOnTheJourney #SeaOfCloudsSunrise #ChasingSunrisesAndClouds

Night Climb of Wugong Mountain on May 24 (Guide Included)

Night Climb of Wugong Mountain on May 24 (Guide Included)

Conquering the small yet mighty Wugong Mountain! ⛰️⛰️⛰️ The weather was perfect today, and there were lots of people. The sunrise and sea of clouds at Wugong Mountain are truly worth it. Here’s my personal experience: 🧩 Gear: Based on others' guides, I packed a windbreaker, water bottle, power bank, snacks, raincoat, flashlight, sunglasses, mask, insect repellent, trash bags, and cash. 👆🏻 However, I found some items unnecessary: Water bottle (I drank a bottle of mineral water on the way up and bought a cup at the top, so I didn’t use my water bottle at all). Flashlight: There are small night lights along the path, and the phone’s flashlight is more than enough (I followed the route, so I didn’t use the flashlight at all). Cash: The signal at the top is good, so I didn’t use cash. ID card (a QR code is enough to enter, so forgetting the ID card is not a problem). Hiking stick: A professional hiking stick might help, but a cheap bamboo stick is unnecessary and heavy. If you need a hiking stick, choose the lightest one. I tried my friend’s for a while, but my arm got sore, and we ended up giving it away. Climbing with hands on the railings is easier, in my opinion, than using a hiking stick. 👌🏻 Must-bring items: 1️⃣ Windbreaker (I wore it after passing the Despair Slope and the last three peaks. At the top, there’s no shelter from the wind, and the windbreaker keeps you warm. However, a thick coat with a raincoat works just as well). 2️⃣ Snacks: Cucumbers! The smell of others eating cucumbers was irresistible. Candy, bread, crackers, and chocolate are also good. 3️⃣ Insect repellent 🌟🌟🌟 At sunrise, all the bugs wake up, which is terrifying for someone afraid of bugs like me. I sprayed insect repellent on my clothes and wore glasses, a mask, and gloves to watch the sunrise comfortably. Everyone borrowed my spray, and I ended up spraying it on everyone around us. 🕒 Timeline: 11:20 PM - Start night climb 11:50 PM - Reach ticket checkpoint 1:55 AM - Start climbing Hero Slope 4:30 AM - Reach the top and start watching the sunrise 5:20 AM - Sunrise 8:30-10:00 AM - Queue for the Golden Summit cable car down 10:50 AM - Reach Zhong’an cable car and queued until 12:00 PM to descend. My friend and I usually work out, so when we got tired climbing, we just took a few minutes to rest without stopping at rest stations for long. #WugongMountainGuide #WugongMountainSeaOfClouds #NightClimbWugongMountain

Wugong Mountain: The Ultimate Guide to Immersive Hiking

Wugong Mountain: The Ultimate Guide to Immersive Hiking

Wugong Mountain 2 Days 1 Night 🎈Suggested visiting time: March to June every year 🎈Recommended mode of transport: If departing from Pingxiang Railway Station, it takes about an hour by chartered car for a group. From Pingxiang North Station, it takes about one and a half hours by bus. (Two trips daily) 🎈Recommended gear: Sports shoes, sun hat, raincoat, trekking poles, backpack, earplugs Two sports short-sleeved tops (sweat-resistant), pants, mosquito repellent Sun protection clothing/sports jacket, power bank Sunscreen (still needed even with physical sun protection) Toiletries, water bottle (appropriate snacks and water, etc.) Wugong Mountain, 🌷 In spring, the green meadows are shrouded in mist, with a touch of greenery from the grass, offering a breathtaking sense of satisfaction at the summit, intoxicating. The climate is a favorite among outdoor enthusiasts, feeling the magical charm of nature, and it's time to check in at the mountain! Golden Summit Stele: 🌷 The spectacle of the sea of clouds at the peak, sometimes surging, sometimes calming. The scenery is elegant, like silk threads, waiting for good weather, and the sea of clouds at sunrise is also a beautiful landscape. Golden Summit Post: 🌷 Climb high and look towards the peak, to see the sunrise and the sea of clouds. Although it depends on luck, it's still worth it. Near the Sea of Clouds: 🌷 A scenic spot with reeds in the foreground and the sea of clouds in the background, perfect for taking photos and checking in, absolutely beautiful. Qiushi Altar: 🌷 A perfect embodiment of the artistic conception of ink painting. In the early morning, when the first rays of sunlight sprinkle on the summit, the entire mountain range is bathed in a golden glow. Cloud Mist Inn: 🌷 A dreamy scenery in a fairyland, with sea of clouds, sunrise, and flower viewing, all of which are excellent here. 🎈Hiking insights: Although mentally prepared to reach the summit from the start, the first half is still quite exciting, followed by the companionship of a friend, persisting to the end, mainly for the purpose of seeing the sea of clouds and meadows. Only when the soreness in the hips and legs sets in do you realize the importance of trekking poles and dry food, thankfully having them. It's not just aerobic anymore, but a multi-faceted exercise that integrates weight-bearing, breathing, and core strength. Endurance and reaching the end are the only goals, and it's really important to maintain a good, steady breathing rhythm. If it's like the last friend (singing around the campfire under the starry night), I don't know if the feeling would be different, but I really admire it. 🎈Recommended strategies: Night climb to see the sunrise 🌷 Shigusi Temple - Zhongan - Wishing Bridge - Fuxing Rock - Lovers' Gallery - Meadow Boat - Golden Summit Classic daily version 🌷 D1: Zhongan Cableway - Shigusi Temple - Haohan Slope - Guanyin Dang - Diaoma Zhuang - Wanbao Cabinet - Baihe Peak Golden Summit D2: Golden Summit - Meadow Boat - Lovers' Gallery - Echo Valley - Wishing Stone - Dianjiangtai - Shigusi Temple - Zhongan Cableway Family summit version 🌷 Tourist Center - Ziji Palace (Cable Car) - Haohan Slope - Starry Sky Camp - Diaoma Zhuang - Golden Summit - Hot Spring Hotel 🎈Tips: 1 There are luggage storage locations at the Tourist Center and at the foot of the mountain 2 There are accommodation points on the mountain, such as Yunxi Hotel, Sea of Clouds Hotel, Hefeng Inn, Feng Hotel, etc. 3 Pay attention to the weather, check the weather forecast before climbing, and avoid climbing in bad weather. 4 It is recommended to climb with friends or family, to look out for each other and ensure safety.

Jiangxi Pingxiang | Sunrise at Wugong Mountain

Jiangxi Pingxiang | Sunrise at Wugong Mountain

'Tour of Wugong Mountain' by Xu Xiake of the Ming Dynasty A thousand peaks rise high like jade hairpins, the five ridges can compare to Wugong Mountain. Viewing the scenery is like gold being smelted, tourists tread among the colorful clouds. The difficulty of watching the sunrise at Wugong Mountain is not high, but it requires certain preparation and planning. The best time and angle to watch the sunrise at Wugong Mountain are as follows: 1. Best viewing time: Spring and winter are the best seasons to watch the sunrise at Wugong Mountain, with the sunrise time approximately between 5:30-6:30 in the morning. Depending on the season, the sunrise time may vary. 2. Best viewing angle: There are many high places on Wugong Mountain suitable for viewing the beautiful sunrise. Below are some recommended locations: 1. Golden Summit: The highest point of Wugong Mountain, overlooking the whole view, is one of the best places to watch the sunrise. 2. Fayun Boundary: It has the largest alpine meadow on Wugong Mountain, and you can find the best viewing spot near Qianzhang Rock. 3. Despair Slope: A section of road between the Golden Summit and Fayun Boundary, known for its steep and long slope. You can see the spectacular sunrise from the top of Despair Slope. 4. Sheep Lion Curtain: Dominated by granite peak forest landforms, you can enjoy the beauty of the sea of clouds at sunrise. In addition to these places, there are other viewpoints where you can watch the sunrise, such as Jiulong Mountain, Tianzhu Peak, etc. These locations have a wide view and overlook the entire beauty of Wugong Mountain, making them very suitable for taking sunrise photos. 3. Precautions for watching the sunrise: It should be noted that because the sunrise time of Wugong Mountain is early, you need to arrange your itinerary and accommodation in advance. In the morning of the second day, when the sun rises, you can take very beautiful sunrise photos. At the same time, because the mountain climate changes a lot, you need to take measures to keep warm and bring enough water and food. When the sun rises, the entire sky will be illuminated, and the clouds will be dyed gold and red, which is very beautiful. Record this beautiful moment, or use your eyes and soul to feel the grandeur and magic of nature. After the sunrise, the sea of clouds and the beauty of the mountains on Wugong Mountain will also be fully displayed. Therefore, if you like sunrise and natural scenery, Wugong Mountain is a place worth visiting.
