Introduction Rime Ice Viewing in Inner Mongolia

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate

Inner Mongolia often sees the beautiful spectacle of rime every winter.

In the birch forest scenic area, the tall birch trunks are covered with a crystal clear rime "coat", like a silver fairy tale world. The rime on the branches is like a blooming white viburnum, and against the blue sky, it is pure and ethereal. Walking in it, there is white snow under your feet and jade trees and branches all around, like a dreamland.

In Genheyuan National Wetland Park, rime is matched with rivers and wooden houses. The trees by the river are covered with rime, like guards wrapped in silver. The lingering mist, combined with the rime landscape, adds a bit of mystery. Enjoying the rime here can not only appreciate the magical creation of nature, but also feel the unique tranquility and magnificence of Inner Mongolia in winter.

Inner Mongolia.

Inner Mongolia.

Wow, your plan sounds amazing! Hulunbuir is such a beautiful place. It's a shame you didn't get to go last year. Your self-driving route is also great, every place is so much fun! Especially the Kaxian, I heard it was super beautiful before, and it must be more enjoyable to drive by yourself. But speaking of travel tips in Inner Mongolia, I think in addition to a windbreaker and a thick coat, you also need to bring sunscreen and sunglasses, because the sun there is really strong, especially on the grassland, there is no shelter, it is easy to get sunburned. In addition, you can't miss the delicious food in Inner Mongolia! Lamb skewers, roast whole lamb, beef noodles, I'm drooling just thinking about it. Oh, I'm so tempted, I really want to go to Hulunbuir too! You must have a great time this time and make up for the regrets of last year!

Extreme hiking

Solo trekking through the Tengger Desert in Inner Mongolia. This was a surreal, unreaĺ, immensely difficult task but remains one of my proudest accomplishments to date Located in the far Northwest of China the Tengger Desert is a vast empty area of wilderness there is nothing around except for desolate sand. However this doesn't mean it's without charm. It's actually nice in it's own way. With a real sense of nature. There is beauty here too with the sand dunes providing excellent backgrounds to the horizon. Challenge yourself to a once in a lifetime experience and something you'll never forget #bucketlistreboot #desert #china #mongolia

Ulanqab 'Rhythm of the Forest' Sumushan

The national key forest protection area Sumushan Forest Park is located in Xinghe County, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, dominating the junction of Shanxi, Hebei and Inner Mongolia, backed by the northern grassland, overlooking the land of Yan and Zhao. The forest coverage rate is 78%, the average altitude of Sumushan is more than 2000 meters, the plant resources are rich, it is a natural plant kingdom and a treasure house of Chinese herbal medicine. Autumn is the most beautiful season of Sumushan, the vast forest, the vast sea of clouds, the dyed forest, the misty fog, 75,000 acres of deciduous pine, camphor pine and birch forest are dotted with deep and shallow orange red and golden yellow mountains, like a colorful oil painting. Would you rather ride a Horse or a Camel?

Would you rather sleep inside a modern Yurt or camp in a desert? Why not do all of them? Ride a horse, ride a camel, stay in a yurt (with hot shower), camp in a desert, and experience a totally different side of China in Inner Mongolia! Inner Mongolia 内蒙古, Nèi Měnggǔ or in Mongolian: Öbür mongɣul, is a Mongol Autonomous Region in northern China, whereas Outer Mongolia is a separate country to the north of China. We visited the Xilamuren grassland, Kubuqi desert, and I extended the trip to stay overnight in Hohhot -a surprisingly VERY modern and thriving city (they have large malls and shared-scooter, not bike!) Be ready for some long bus ride during the trip, the area is huge! We were only visiting a tiny bit of Inner Mongolia, the birthplace of Genghis Khan. There are definitely a LOT more to see. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Tips: for best experience (with clear starry sky night during your desert camp), plan your trip when in non-rainy months! Oh, and get ready to be a cat during your camp in the desert. Just gotta say, it’s a giant litter-box, if you know what I meant. Getting There - take a flight to Hohhot and take a connecting bus ride to the grassland / desert area. Attractions - Mongolian Yurt, Mongolian horse ride, Desert camping, and lots of fun! Hotels - Hohhot has a lot of modern hotels, but obviously you’ll need to find those Yurt hotels. Food & Restaurants - Mongolian foods typically very meaty: lamb, beef, and its produce: milk, yogurt, cheese; and also hotpot! (warning: their milk tea is salty; need to ask for sweet version). Shopping - Traditional trinkets & souvenirs. Vegan Friendliness - can be requested in a typical Chinese foods restaurant, but not so much in the traditional Yurt’s Zhama Banquet dinner. #innermongolia #chinatravel #desert #camping #yurt

Complete Guide to Eating, Staying, and Playing at Huitengxile Grassland

Complete Guide to Eating, Staying, and Playing at Huitengxile Grassland

Dear friends, you must visit Huitengxile Grassland! Located in Chahar Right Wing Middle Banner, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia, this alpine meadow grassland has an average altitude of over 2100 meters. Known as the 'Cool World,' it offers a refreshing breeze and pleasant temperatures even during the scorching summer months. In midsummer, the grassland becomes a sea of flowers, with various wildflowers blooming freely, painting the land in vibrant colors. Besides its stunning natural scenery, Huitengxile Grassland is home to the largest wind farm in Asia. The massive wind turbines are neatly arranged, turning slowly on the grassland, creating a picturesque scene with the blue sky, white clouds, and lush greenery. Every snapshot here is a masterpiece. Moreover, Huitengxile Grassland has a rich historical background. It is said to have been the nomadic land of the ancient Xianbei people, with ancient legends and stories passed down through generations, adding a layer of mystery to the grassland. Who can resist such a beautiful and storied place? Just go for it! ⛺【Must-Visit Scenic Spots】: Huitengxile Grassland Check-in Spots Representative Spot 1: Huitengxile Huanghuagou Grassland Tourist Area Representative Spot 2: Huitengxile Flower Sea Scenic Area 🛬【Must-Do Activities】: 1. Horse Riding - Huitengxile Horse Farm 2. Sightseeing Train - Huitengxile Huanghuagou Grassland Tourist Area 3. Bonfire Party - Huitengxile Huanghuagou Grassland Tourist Area 🏨【Money-Saving Tips】: Hohhot Budget Travel Routes include transportation choices, booking trips, and choosing travel routes wisely. 1. Transportation Choices: Plane: Although flying is quick and convenient, it can be expensive. Consider transit flights for cheaper options. For example, flying directly from Guangzhou might be costly, but transiting through cities like Beijing could be cheaper. Train: If your city has direct trains to Ulanqab, opt for the train as it is more budget-friendly. After arriving at Ulanqab Station, take a long-distance bus to Chahar Right Wing Middle Banner, then transfer to a shuttle bus to Huitengxile Grassland. This minimizes transportation costs but takes longer and offers less flexibility. Carpooling or Renting a Car: If traveling with a group, carpooling or renting a car from Ulanqab to the grassland is a good option. Carpooling is generally cost-effective and offers some security, making it a preferred choice. 2. Booking Trips: Travel between June and September when the grassland is at its most beautiful, allowing you to enjoy the scenery at a leisurely pace. 3. Choosing Travel Routes Wisely: Combine Huitengxile Grassland with nearby attractions to save on transportation costs. For example, travel from Hohhot to Wulanhada Volcano (about 2.5 hours by car), then to Huitengxile Grassland (1.5 hours between the two spots). On the second day, you can visit the desert, making the trip diverse and avoiding multiple high transportation costs. 🧡【Tips】: 1. The temperature difference between day and night on the grassland is significant. Even in summer, it can be cool at night, so bring a thick coat to avoid catching a cold. 2. The Mongolian people have unique customs, such as not stepping on the threshold when entering a yurt and not roasting feet over the fire. Respect local customs while visiting. 3. The grassland has strong sunlight and high UV radiation. Remember to take sun protection measures, such as applying sunscreen, wearing sunglasses, and a sun hat. 4. Follow the staff's instructions when horse riding, wear the proper gear, and do not gallop recklessly to ensure your safety. 5. There are many mosquitoes on the grassland, so bring mosquito repellent products like floral water and essential balm.
