Mongolian Yurts in Xilamuren Grassland 🇨🇳

#wecreate Xilamuren Grassland is located id Baotou City. Approxinately 2-3 hours away from Hohhot. We were very excited to experiece sleeping in a traditional yurt for the first time but we were surprised when we arrived at our accommodation. It was a Deluxe Yurt, it was actually like a hotel room. We really enjoyed their welcome party during the night, wr had traditional singing and dancing plus a roasted lamb or goat. Sorry there is no photo coz it was too dark to capture some. There were some horse riding activities with extra fee but you can enjoy watching a horce race and a traditional wresting. My husband who is 6'3 in height was easily thrown and pinned down by a 5'5 guy. The grassland is so massive and the sunrise the next day is such a sight to behold. Location: Daerhammao Ming Union Banner, Baotou City. Enjoy your yurt and grassland experience. #mytripvlog #tripblazers #grassland #innermongolia #accommodation #yurt

A trip to the grasslands!

A trip to the grasslands!

Experience the healing power of living like a herder. Wake up in a yurt to the sound of larks and cows mooing. This is a chance to escape the city and experience life on the grasslands. The nearest city is 90 km away. There are no crowds of tourists, just endless grasslands to explore. There are no modern conveniences like toilets, and cell phone signals are spotty. But the people here have faith. In the morning, do yoga, meditate, or read by the lake. Enjoy the wildflowers, pine forests, lakes, and grazing animals. Let go of the labels that society has given you and be yourself. At night, listen to the sound of the morin khuur and chat with the locals around a campfire. Look up at the stars and the Milky Way. Travel is a journey inward. Slow down and listen to yourself!

Xilamuren Grassland is absolutely stunning! ✨✨✨ Located in Darhan Muminggan United Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Xilamuren, meaning "yellow river" in Mongolian, is 100 km north of Hohhot. It's commonly referred to as "Zhaohe" in the tourism industry, named after the Qing Dynasty Lama Temple, "Puhui Temple," situated on the banks of the Xilamuren River. Originally built in 1769 (the 34th year of the Qianlong Emperor's reign), the temple served as a summer retreat for the Sixth Living Buddha of Xilitu Zhao in Hohhot. 📍 Name: Xilamuren Grassland 🎫 Tickets: From 100 · ⌚️ Suggested Visiting Time: 3+ hrs ✅ Main Activities: Horseback riding + Performances · ✨ Here's a list of essential items to bring🎒, some are super useful❗: 🔸 Sun Protection: Wide-brimmed hat + sunglasses + sunscreen + light sun-protective clothing. Sun protection is a must! 🌞 🔸 Clothing: Jacket and long pants, as it can get cold in the mornings and evenings 😮. 🔸 Medicine: Stomach medicine, cold medicine, cold granules, motion sickness medicine, etc. 💊 🔸 Disposable Items: Toiletries, underwear, socks, etc. 👗 🏠🏠🏠 Accommodation Mostly yurts. "Guliyan Scenic Area" has a large number of yurts and is a bit further inside. At night, you can enjoy the "Nadaam Feast" and watch the bonfire party. The Nadaam Feast is quite pricey, but you can ask the yurt owner for a slightly cheaper price (though not much cheaper). Yurt accommodations aren't as perfect as you might imagine, so keep your expectations realistic, focus on the overall beauty, and overlook any minor inconveniences. 🥔🥔🥔 Dining There are several small restaurants next to "Puhui Temple." We were starving and found the food delicious! The braised mutton at "Tianmu Braised Mutton" is particularly good. Xilamuren Grassland is the earliest developed grassland tourist spot in Inner Mongolia. It features rolling hills, lush grass, fresh air, and stunning prairie scenery. During the summer and autumn, the grassland is covered with fragrant flowers and swaying grass, creating a captivating landscape that refreshes the mind and spirit. Herds of sheep, horses, and cattle roam or gallop across the land, resembling colorful clouds drifting across the sky, or pearls and agates scattered by fairies along the banks of the silver-chain-like Xilamuren River.
