A last minute decision to squeeze in a visit to the Five Pagoda Temple was wise. It is a little out of the way, near the Qingcheng Park. There are several small temple structures leading to the pagoda, that have beautiful traditional wall paintings and large central sculptures, but there was also a lovely display of golden sacred statuary worthy of any museum. The main structure is a large gray temple consisting of a stupa surrounded by 5 pagodas. The stupa has 1,563 images of Buddha carved into the walls. They all seem the same but as you focus on them each is slightly different. The pagoda was constructed in 1732. It was a hot sunny summer day when we visited but there many shady places filled with flowers. #awesomepic #urbanexplorer #awesomepic

A city on the rise!!! Hohhot has the best lamb dishes. The ribs, skewers and coriander dishes were delicious. The city has a rich history with lots on show for you to visit. The temples, statues and religious buildings are still key hubs in the community. The best way to explore the city is on the electric scooters that are all around the city with wide bike lanes to suit. In the Hohhot history museum there are some great exhibits covering thousands of years of Inner Mongolian history and wildlife. The bars and hotels in Hohhot are developing as the City expands, but there are some great craft beer bars and rooftop spots for an evening above the city. I've no doubt in the future Hohhot will be a vibrant city with tons to offer. For now it's a fun city to visit for a day before you head to the desert or grasslands. Definitely order some lamb ribs

At Hohhot Ocean World, encounter a blue dream.

Hey guys! I recently went to Hohhot Ocean World and was absolutely amazed. I have to share this joy! As soon as I entered the ocean world, it was like stepping into another world. In the huge acrylic glass tanks, colorful tropical fish swam in schools, their graceful movements resembling flowing ribbons. The most surprising thing was encountering the rays. Their flat bodies swam elegantly, as if soaring in the air. They would also playfully approach the glass and interact with visitors, which was super healing. The highlight was the dolphin and sea lion show. Dolphins leaped high out of the water, creating perfect arcs, while the adorable sea lions skillfully performed tricks like ball balancing, clapping, and saluting, drawing cheers from the entire audience. The trainers' seamless coordination with them was both heartwarming and awe-inspiring. The ocean world not only has dreamy marine life but also an educational area that introduces ocean knowledge in an engaging way. Bringing children here allows them to have fun while learning, making it a win-win situation. When you're tired from exploring, the food court offers a variety of snacks, such as takoyaki and grilled squid, filling the air with delicious aromas and satisfying your taste buds.
