Yueliangwan in Wenchang with My Wife & Son 😌

At first glance, Wenchang seems like another normal remote location in Hainan, but when you look deeper you can see that it is an oasis for anyone looking for peace & quiet. Yueliangwan beach is about an hour taxi ride away from Wenchang train station and it where we found ourselves during the second half of our trip in Wenchang. The food there was great, especially the fish. They also specialize in chicken with their signature Wenchang Chicken dish. Yueliangwan is literally in the middle of nowhere, but it’s perfect for some like me. When you get to the water, the coast stretches for as long as the eyes can see. This beach is very different from other beaches in Hainan because the sand is completely flat, leading to a smooth walk on the beach. There are so many different types of little clams, crabs, and shell fish. You can literally see so many people casting nets in the water. The people are also very nice and happy people. You can tell that they really enjoy their lives. We spent hours there collecting shells, admiring the sky, and jumping into the water. If you are taking a long trip around Hainan, definitely take a side quest to Yueliangwan for a day or two. You’ll definitely enjoy yourself! #beachlife #china #hainan #summervacation

Coconut Forest 🌴

#summerbreak Driving around Hainan took us to the coconut forest in Wenchang. I just love the view of coconut trees so this was the perfect spot to start the vacation. Summer is super warm in Hainan however it was manageable even for a Norwegian. We stayed at Hilton and drove to different places during the day. I could totally recommend Wenchang chicken, it is a local delicacy that we tried on the first night. We also tried some local dimsum at a small restaurant by the sea. We also had a morning walk to shitou park, from the parking you have to walk abit to come to the cool stones. we came early and got the place almost to ourselves. #travel #hainan #wenchang

📍Detailed address: Hainan Wenchang Tongguling Nature Reserve, intersection of Qishui Bay Avenue and Rainbow South Road 🚉Transportation strategy: Drive to the seaside parking, plenty of parking spaces free of charge, very convenient 🌟Highlights: We went there quite early, and it was winter, so the sea water was not so clear, and the sky was a bit grey. Even so, it didn't affect the unique tranquility and beauty of Qishui Bay. But also because of this, there were few tourists on the beach, allowing us to fully enjoy the beach and the waves. I am a severe sea lover, who can go to see the sea all year round, stepping on the soft sand, facing the salty sea breeze, with the sound of the waves heavy and melodious in my ears, sometimes mysterious, sometimes surging, sometimes gentle. Qishui Bay is the first vacation beach we visited in Hainan, with all the seaside elements such as coconut groves, sea, and beach. Because there are few people, the traces of commercial development are also not too bad, without too many messy marine entertainment projects. You can walk to the seaside and let the waves wash over your feet, or you can bend down and slowly pick up pretty shells.
