Contact your hotel in advance if you are sensitive to the cold. ⚠️ Important Notes: - Altitude Sickness: Take precautions against altitude sickness. Consider medication and avoid strenuous activity upon arrival. - Warm Clothing: Yubeng experiences significant temperature fluctuations. Pack warm layers like a jacket, fleece, and thermal pants. - Sun Protection: High-altitude sun is intense. Use sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. - Hiking Gear: Trekking poles are essential (rentals available at inns). Crampons are needed before May. Pack a raincoat for unpredictable weather. - Pack Light: Avoid suitcases. Bring only essential items to ease your hike. - Hiking Safety: Stay on marked trails. Some routes are challenging. Embark on a journey to Meili Snow Mountain and encounter a breathtaking sunrise.

At the foot of the snow mountain, I witnessed the most beautiful sunrise and understood why so many people travel from afar to Meili. This guide aims to help you achieve this snowy mountain rendezvous! 🏔 Attraction Introduction Meili Snow Mountain is located in Deqin County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is one of the four sacred mountains in Tibetan Buddhism. The main peak, Kawagebo, stands at an altitude of 6,740 meters and remains an unclimbed 'virgin peak.' The most spectacular sight is the 'Sunshine on the Golden Mountain,' where the first rays of sunlight turn the entire mountain golden, resembling a sacred temple. 🚗 Transportation Guide You can first reach Shangri-La and then carpool or hire a private car to Feilai Temple. Carpooling is relatively affordable, costing around 150-200 RMB per person, but the itinerary is more fixed. Hiring a private car offers more freedom, allowing you to stop and enjoy the scenery along the way, with costs around 600-800 RMB per day. 🏠 Accommodation Recommendations There are many guesthouses near Feilai Temple with views of the snow mountain right from your window. Prices range from 200-500 RMB during the off-season and may double during peak season, so it's advisable to book in advance. 🍜 Food Recommendations Don't miss the Tibetan butter tea, which warms you up and helps alleviate altitude sickness. Also, try the yak meat hotpot, known for its tender meat and rich broth. 📷 Photography Tips To capture the stunning 'Sunshine on the Golden Mountain,' a telephoto lens is essential. You can choose to shoot from the Feilai Temple viewing platform, with the snow mountain as the background and the person in the foreground to create depth. Morning light is soft, so make good use of side lighting to add dimension to your photos. ❗ Notes Check the weather forecast in advance and choose a sunny day to increase your chances of seeing the 'Sunshine on the Golden Mountain.' Keep warm in high-altitude areas and avoid strenuous activities to prevent altitude sickness. Respect local religious beliefs and customs. The charm of the snow mountain can only be truly appreciated in person. May you have an unforgettable trip to Meili Snow Mountain!

[One]Bus: There are buses from Deqin to Cizhong Bridge, which take about 1.5 hours. Cizhong Village is located on the road above Cizhong Bridge, with a small shop by the bridge. The roads in the village are relatively good, and you can find the church on foot. [Two]Self-driving: Self-driving is relatively convenient. Cizhong Catholic Church is usually a stop on the itinerary, where you can enjoy the scenery along the way and visit the church. 👍️Must-see attractions: [One]Main church building: The church faces east, with a combination of Chinese and Western architectural styles. It has Western elements such as bell towers, crosses, and chapels supported by arcades, as well as Chinese-style pavilions and flying eaves. Climb the bell tower for a panoramic view of Cizhong Village. [Two]Vineyard: There are large vineyards around the church. The grapes here are excellent varieties from Bordeaux, France. You can still see the winemaking tools used by French missionaries. [Three]Century-old trees: There are two lush trees in the backyard of the church, one eucalyptus and one laurel, both planted by missionaries with seeds brought from Europe, and they are now nearly a century old. 🎟️Tickets: Free admission, but often under renovation and inaccessible. 💗Other tips: Cizhong Catholic Church was built in the sixth year of the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, originally in Zigou Village, and was built by French missionaries. Yubeng Trek - Encounter with Avalanche

Yubeng Trek - Encounter with Avalanche

In the morning, we set off from Yubeng Upper Village, walking about 20 kilometers round trip. Clothing: Three-layer dressing method Accessories: Hat, gloves, sunglasses, thermos cup Note: The focus of this route is on being lightweight, heavy equipment is not recommended as it is a round-trip route and does not require carrying too many things. You can carry a small backpack or a drawstring bag. Supplies: Depending on personal consumption, generally need high-calorie Snickers, a 500ml bottle of electrolyte water, and a bottle of hot water. When trekking to Xiaonong Ranch, there are vendors selling water and food. Fried rice costs 40, instant noodles 35, hot water 10, and butter tea and yak milk seem to be 15-20. Heard the sound of an avalanche for the first time. It really sounds like in the movies, very scary. Fortunately, it was still some distance from our summit position. Asked a local uncle if this type of avalanche is common, he said it's not common, you are very lucky. And when you hear a loud noise, the first reaction should be to run, not to take pictures. Route safety issues: The entire route is quite primitive, so be sure to follow others or look for the ribbons tied to the trees. Try to travel in groups, I also followed others. Safety first.

From the viewing platform, you can overlook the "First Bend in the World," which is known as a wonder of the world. It is also called Moon Bay, a natural landscape on the Jinsha River. The dark brown mountains, Jinsha River, the road by the river, and the villages in the distance are all in sight. The Jinsha River makes an omega-shaped bend around the pyramid-like Rizhui Peak, which is quite spectacular. 🍁The ticket is CNY 20. In short, Jinsha River Bend is a very worthwhile attraction. Whether it is natural scenery or cultural landscape, it has endless charm. I believe you will be conquered by its beauty!

Just got back from Yubeng, these hotels are really great.

Just got back from Yubeng, these hotels are really great.

Yubeng Shangcun - Yubeng Youle Homestay: - Located in Yubeng Shangcun, there are only ten rooms in total. - Each room has a large floor-to-ceiling window facing the snow-capped mountains. The 5th floor viewing restaurant (with a fireplace) has a panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains on both sides, which is great for taking photos. - You can choose from Chinese or Western breakfast, and they also provide energy sandwiches for hiking. Hiking equipment is also available. The rooms are equipped with floor heating. - Yubeng Snow Mountain Nuoye Luxury Tent Hotel: - Located between Shangcun and Xiaocun, it is a characteristic campsite with a single tent and only 4 rooms, covering an area of 3000m², and 1 restaurant. - Each room has a separate bathroom, 3 large viewing windows/doors, and the view is super good. The viewing terrace is also independent, suitable for people who come to Yubeng for vacation and enjoy a slow life. - Songzan Yubeng Tent Camp (has been demolished and is being rebuilt and upgraded elsewhere): - Yubeng's first luxury accommodation, the old tent camp is one of many classic check-in locations, but there is no separate bathroom. Yubeng Village, what a fairyland on earth it is

Yubeng Village, what a fairyland on earth it is

Yubeng Village, a paradise-like place, with snow-capped peaks, grasslands, pine forests and carefree horses. Every scene here is the most beautiful, making people linger. Last year, my friends and I spent a wonderful 10 days here, seeing the sunrise over the golden mountain every day, and seeing the holy glaciers while hiking. Here, we felt the eternal mystery of Kawagebo, the devout faith in the sky full of prayer flags, and the vigorous vitality in the wilderness. The transportation to Yubeng Village is not very convenient. You need to take a bus from Lijiang or Shangri-La to Xidang Village, and then take the villagers' off-road vehicle into the village. In the village, we hiked one day and rested one day, leaving our footprints on the Divine Waterfall Line, Ice Lake Line, Cordyceps Line, Divine Lake Line, and Nise Line. The highland barley popping latte at the Mountain Bistro, the view of the Snow Mountain Cafe, the cocktails at the No. 23 Bar, and the bonfire and whiskey at Wild Language are all unforgettable. Yubeng is a place you will never forget once you come, and I hope you can also come to feel the beauty and mystery here.
