Introduction Yiliang Cave Exploration

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
Yiling, Yunnan, the core of the karst secrets of central Yunnan, is famous for its Jiuxiang caves and various stone forests, and is known as the "Asian Cave Museum". The ancient ocean deposits 270 million years ago, carved by groundwater for hundreds of millions of years, formed more than a hundred three-dimensional and staggered cave systems. The male and female waterfalls are like giant dragons tearing through the strata and roaring into the Yincui Gorge underground river; the Shentian terrace-like travertine pools are glowing with emerald light, forming a symphony in the center of the earth with the giant stone curtain hanging 30 meters high. Explorers can take a boat to cross the thousand-meter underground river of Jinghun Gorge, look up at the stalactite forest hanging from the top of the cave, or use SRT technology to quickly descend a 60-meter vertical shaft, and discover fluorescent mycelium and transparent blind shrimp in the undeveloped bat cave branches. The Lion Hall spans over 200 meters, with ancient marine fossils densely covered on the dome, and rock paintings of Yi ancestors hunting hidden in the mottled stone walls eroded by sulfur. Extreme projects such as underground river rafting and cave via ferrata connect the boiling underground waterfalls and the travertine maze that has been silent for thousands of years. Yiliang uses the primitive brushstrokes of crustal upheavals to engrave the hydrological power and humanistic codes into a book, inviting the brave to go upstream and touch the pulse of the land in central Yunnan that has been beating for billions of years.

Meisheng Art Retreat Hotel: A Hidden Gem

Meisheng Art Retreat Hotel: A Hidden Gem

In the hustle and bustle of life, I always long for an escape. That's how I came across Meisheng Art Retreat Hotel, a place where I can immerse myself in tranquility. 🚗 Just a short drive from the city, it feels like I've entered another world. The hotel is nestled in the mountains, surrounded by lush greenery, with birds chirping and streams flowing, like a real-life paradise. 🏨 As I step into the hotel, I'm instantly enveloped by its unique artistic atmosphere. The lobby is adorned with exquisite artworks, from sculptures to paintings, each exuding its own charm. The staff at the front desk are warm and attentive, making the check-in process smooth and pleasant, and they thoughtfully introduce me to the hotel's facilities. 🌳 The room I'm staying in is simply stunning! As I open the door, fresh air greets me, and the large floor-to-ceiling windows bring the outdoor beauty inside. The room's decor is simple yet elegant, with wooden furniture and soft bedding, offering maximum comfort. What surprises me the most is the private balcony, where I can enjoy a cup of tea, sit on a rocking chair, and quietly admire the mountain scenery, as if time has stopped just for me. 🍱 The food here is also a highlight. The hotel's restaurant specializes in local cuisine, with ingredients sourced from nearby farms, ensuring freshness and healthiness. Each dish is like a work of art, with a perfect balance of color, aroma, and taste. The signature steamed fish, in particular, is tender and juicy, melting in my mouth, leaving a lasting impression. 🎨 The hotel also offers a variety of art experiences. I participated in a pottery-making class, where, under the guidance of a teacher, I crafted my own little ceramic cup. During the process, I experienced the joy of artistic creation and made friends with like-minded individuals. 🌅 Every moment here is incredibly relaxing. In the morning, I wake up to the sound of birds singing, open the window, and see the mist lingering in the mountains, like a fairyland; in the evening, I stroll through the hotel's garden, admire the sunset, and feel the gentle breeze on my face. If you also long for a getaway from the hustle and bustle, consider visiting Meisheng Art Retreat Hotel. Here, you can slow down, embrace nature, converse with art, and enjoy a peaceful time of your own. Trust me, it will be an unforgettable travel experience!

Not in Kyoto! At a newly opened hot spring resort in Fujian!

Not in Kyoto! At a newly opened hot spring resort in Fujian!

Chaozhou-Shantou & Fujian Surrounding Tour|Newly opened hot spring resort ♨️•ᴥ•♨️ Not in Kyoto! In Quanzhou, Fujian, the hometown of Tieguanyin tea! This top-luxury resort, built with an investment of five small targets (CNY 500 million), truly lives up to its reputation. 🏡 Next door is the ancestral temple of Qingshuiyan, said to be very efficacious for prayers. 🙏🏻 Looking for a hot spring getaway for the whole family this weekend, I searched for a long time and finally found this mountain resort hotel. Accustomed to the fast-paced city life, it's quite pleasant to escape to the mountains for two days to unwind. 🦦 - We booked a detached garden room. The overall color scheme and style are very Japanese. The room has a great view, a private outdoor hot spring pool in the courtyard, and a spa table. 🧖🏼‍♀️ This time we brought our little one along, and the kids' playground at the hotel was incredibly thoughtful! There are also video games and go-karts, so there's no shortage of fun. Guests also receive game tokens upon check in. 🎠 - The hot spring area is free for hotel guests. If you don't want to stay overnight, you can also buy hot spring tickets directly. ♨️ There are over 40 hot spring pools. 🛖 The bird's nest-style architecture all over the mountain and the infinity pools are very photogenic. There's also a swimming pool, a steam room, and a stove-boiled tea area. Each hot spring pool is independent and private. - For dinner, we chose the Yunding Restaurant. 🍴 It serves Minnan cuisine in a pleasant setting, and the food is quite good. Breakfast is a buffet. The seafood noodles are very fresh, and there are also some local snacks. The Yakitori bar on the mountain is still under renovation. If you're worried about getting hungry at night, you can bring some snacks. 😜 - Parking is free for guests, and there are shuttle buses available. 🚗 3-hour drive from Chaozhou-Shantou, 1.5 hours from Xiamen, Fujian.

Jiuxiang, Yunnan | A Hidden Underground World

Jiuxiang, Yunnan | A Hidden Underground World

| A Hidden Underground World | |. Hey everyone 👋, today I'm bringing you a super detailed travel guide to Jiuxiang, Yunnan, guaranteed to make your trip easy and fun. Come on, join me on this fantastic underground adventure 😎! 🚗 Transportation Guide ✈️ If you're coming by plane, first arrive at Kunming Changshui International Airport. Then, you can choose to take a direct bus to Yiliang from the airport. Once in Yiliang, transfer to a minibus heading to Jiuxiang. Enjoy the blue skies, white clouds, green hills, and clear waters of Yunnan along the way 🌳. It's super relaxing. If you take the high-speed train to Kunming South Railway Station, there are also buses to Yiliang, offering seamless and convenient transfers. 🚕 Of course, if you want more freedom, taking a taxi directly to Jiuxiang is also an option. It's just a bit more expensive, but being able to chat with your friends along the way and stop to admire the scenery at any time is worth it~ 💰 Ticket Information The ticket 🎫 price for Jiuxiang Scenic Area is quite affordable. You can buy tickets on-site or book in advance on major travel apps. Remember to check if there are combo tickets that include sightseeing bus tickets. Otherwise, walking around the scenic area can be a bit tiring 🦵. Hop on the sightseeing bus, and "zoom," you can go directly to each attraction. ⏰ Suggested Visiting Time I recommend setting aside a whole day for Jiuxiang 😃. Enter the park early in the morning to fully appreciate the magical karst landscape while the crowds are smaller and the lighting is good. Enjoy some local specialties for lunch to recharge. Continue exploring in the afternoon, visiting all the caves and canyons. Return in the evening, accompanied by the sunset glow, feeling completely satisfied. A perfect day, check ✔️. 🌟 Must-See Attractions 1. Shocking Gorge: As soon as you step in here, a chill hits you 🧊. The gorge is deep and serene, with towering cliffs on both sides. Sunlight can only filter through narrow gaps. Walking on the plank road, with the rushing water below, the roaring sound is like the heartbeat of the earth. Those who are easily scared might feel their hearts race, but this kind of thrill is truly unforgettable. It feels like entering a mysterious subterranean world 🗺️. 2. Twin Waterfalls: Wow 😍, you'll hear them before you see them. These two waterfalls, one masculine and one feminine, cascade side by side, with splashing water and majestic momentum. Standing on the viewing platform, feel the water mist on your face, like a gentle "wet" kiss from nature 💋. Take some beautiful photos; this is a signature check-in spot in Jiuxiang. 3. Divine Fields: Stepping into this area is like stumbling into a fairy's terraced fields. Layer upon layer of calcium carbonate deposits, illuminated by lights, resemble a dreamlike wonderland ✨. Nature, the "artist," is so amazing, using eons to carve such exquisite works. Be sure to take your time and appreciate every detail. 🍱 Food Recommendations 1. Yiliang Roast Duck: This is a local specialty 🦆, with crispy skin and tender meat, and sizzling oil. Take a bite, and the crispy texture dances on your tongue. Paired with a special dipping sauce, it's absolutely divine. Many restaurants around the scenic area serve the authentic version. Treat yourself to one after a long day of exploring, and your happiness will soar. 2. Buckwheat Baba Dipped in Honey: Healthy and delicious, buckwheat baba has the aroma of grains. Dipped in sweet honey 🍯, it's soft, sweet, and glutinous, perfect for replenishing energy. Don't miss it if you see it at a snack stall. 🛏 Accommodation Guide If you want an in-depth experience, consider staying overnight near Jiuxiang. There are many homestays and inns around the scenic area, each with its own unique style, from cozy countryside vibes to ethnic characteristics 🎈. Fall asleep to the sounds of insects and birds, and wake up in the fresh air to a new day full of energy. It's fantastic~ Check out guest reviews on booking platforms and choose your ideal nest 🛏. Jiuxiang is a place full of surprises 🎉. Pack your bags and embark on a spontaneous trip. I believe you'll fall in love with this magical land 💕!

Kunming in 4 Days: Streets to Stone Peak

🗓️ Day 1: Discovering Old Kunming on Foot We started our adventure with a relaxing walking tour around Old Kunming Street, a charming area just steps from our hotel. Here, traditional storefronts, tiled roofs, and boutique cafés set the mood for a culture-rich trip. Evening: We made our way to Nanping Pedestrian Street, a lively hub filled with shopping centers, local snack vendors, and a buzzing night scene. 📍 Top Tip: Try the street skewers and pick up a handmade trinket or two! 🏞️ Day 2: Shilin Stone Forest, Jiuxiang Cave & Flower Market Delight We booked a private car for the day and journeyed to the incredible Stone Forest (Shilin) — a UNESCO site with towering limestone formations carved by time. It felt like walking through a natural maze. From there, we continued to Jiuxiang Caves, where glowing stalactites and underground rivers made it one of the most magical spots of the trip. 🌸 Evening Stop: We ended our day at Dounan Flower Market, one of Asia’s largest. Flowers here are unbelievably affordable, and we stocked up on beautiful dried flower teas — both fragrant and great for gifts! 🚌 Travel Tip: Hiring a driver or joining a small group tour makes this packed day much easier. 🛕 Day 3: Temples, Green Lake & Guandu Ancient Town We spent our morning visiting three local temples, where soft chants and incense filled the air. It was a grounding way to explore the city’s spiritual side. Next, we relaxed at Cuihu Park (Green Lake) — a peaceful spot with swan boats, street performers, and dancing locals. 🏘️ Afternoon: We headed to Guandu Ancient Town, just a short ride from downtown Kunming. It’s a beautifully preserved area with traditional houses, bridges, and temples — quieter and less touristy than others. 🌃 Evening: We returned to the Nanping night market for one last round of local snacks and souvenir hunting. 🥐 Day 4: Rose Flower Cake & Airport Send-Off With only half a day left, we grabbed breakfast and made one final stop at Happy Miss (花满楼) — a beloved pastry shop known for its famous rose flower cakes (鲜花饼). Light, flaky, and filled with Yunnan rose petals, these pastries are the perfect goodbye gift (and a great snack on the flight!). ✈️ We checked out, loaded up on rose cake boxes, and headed to the airport — ending our trip on a sweet, floral note. 🧳 Final Tips for Your Kunming Trip ✔️ Best Time to Visit: Spring and autumn for mild weather ✔️ Getting Around: Use DiDi for easy local transport ✔️ Must-Try Local Food: Crossing-the-bridge noodles, grilled skewers, rose pastries ✔️ Souvenir Ideas: Dried flower teas, fresh rose cakes, handmade fans from Guandu. #KunmingTravel #ExploreYunnan #naturalwonders #4DayItinerary

Kunming is a city for good weather, culture and sightseeing

Kunming is a city for good weather, culture and sightseeing

Altogether we spent 7 days at Kunming. First we were there for a golf retreat at Spring City Golf and Lake Resort for 3 nights. Green fees are quite expensive there but the cool weather and scenery made up for it considering it's summer and most places would be very hot. Next we spent a full day at Stone Forest (石林)and Jiuxiang Cave (九乡)to admire geological formations. Visiting Jiuxiang may be slightly physically demanding as there are many steps to climb and because it's a cave feature, you can't see the end of your climb. The city itself has many to offer in terms of walking streets and night market. The old street (昆明老街)and Nanqiang (南强) walking streets are vibrant and have lots of street food, and more tourist friendly. But if you don't mind checking out a more local scene, Xuangqiao (双桥) would be cheaper and more crowded. Yunnan Ethnic Village (云南民主村)is a must go if you like to see the cultures of the different ethnic groups that make Yunnan unique. Go take a walk at Dianchi 滇池 Lake. We only managed to make it to 滇池海埂公园 section. Enjoy the lake scenery there. Food is interesting. We tried the wild mushroom hotpot and Guoqiao Noodle (过桥米线)to name a few. All in all, our golf retreat was the main objective but the sightseeing, food and to a small extent shopping made the 7 day trip fun and fulfilled.
