Exceptional Stay for Female Solo Traveler at Moyoni Africa Lodge
As a female solo traveler embarking on my first journey to Africa, specifically mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar, I was seeking safety, security, and relaxation. From the moment I emailed Mischa, the co-owner of Moyoni Africa Lodge, I felt reassured. She promptly addressed all my queries with warmth and clarity. Meeting her in person confirmed my positive impression—she has a natural ability to intuitively cater to her guests' needs, ensuring a homely and nurturing atmosphere.
The lodge itself reflects Mischa's personality, showcasing comfort and elegance through its architecture, interior design, ambiance, and well-kept grounds. Her team is equally wonderful—Leah, who cleaned my room every two days, was always kind, gentle, and ready to assist with a smile. Sana, the co-chef (with menus designed by Mischa), prepared abundant and delicious meals. Despite my smaller appetite, I could tell larger appetites would be fully satisfied here.
During my stay in Tanzania's colder season, I appreciated the lodge’s cozy fireplace in the evenings, complete with warm blankets and drinks. The grounds were beautifully maintained, featuring a vegetable garden, chicken coop, and vibrant flowers and plants. As I write this review, I'm enjoying their communal rooftop terrace with a breathtaking view of Mount Meru. 😍
I had a wonderful excursion to Arusha National Park Safari, organized by Mischa and the lodge. My driver, John, who also handled my airport pickup and drop-off, was excellent, making it a memorable first safari experience.
Overall, I'm thrilled Moyoni Africa Lodge was my introduction to Tanzania, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to friends and family. I’ll also miss Mischa’s two affectionate dogs, Max and Moritz, who brought extra joy to my days. 🥰 A heartfelt thanks to Mischa and her team for everything. 🙏🏾💜😊
