Here, a single journey unveils five distinct landscapes, revealing Mother Nature's most magnificent veil.
🌈 First, the Dreamy Sunset of the Nine-Turn Eighteen-Bend River
The meandering Kaidu River here sketches the most enchanting curves on Earth—the Nine-Turn Eighteen-Bend. As the sun sets in the west, golden sunlight blankets the river, resembling myriad strands of gold cast from the horizon, reflecting off clouds and mountains in a symphony of colors, each frame a masterpiece meticulously carved by God.
🦢 Second, the Light Feather Dance of Swan Lake
This is the homeland of swans, where flocks dance gracefully over the clear waves each spring. They either sing softly or soar high, weaving together with distant snow-capped mountains and nearby meadows into captivating ecological tapestries. Observing these elegant creatures up close, one feels the harmonious coexistence of nature and life.
🌿 Third, the Vast Expanse of Alpine Meadows
The Bayanbulak Grassland, China's second-largest grassland, is renowned for its unique alpine meadow scenery. Standing amidst this boundless green ocean, one breathes in the essence of grass and freedom, with cattle and sheep leisurely grazing and clouds hanging low, as if in a utopia that makes one forget the world's hustle and bustle.
🏞️ Fourth, the Majestic Snow Mountains Embrace
Surrounded by snow-capped mountains like guardian deities, Bayanbulak exudes tranquility and sanctity in their embrace. Whether at dawn's first light or dusk's arrival, the mountains' silhouettes shift with the play of light and shadow, each gaze an admiration of nature's miraculous craftsmanship.
🌌 Fifth, the Cosmic Conversation under the Dazzling Starry Sky
When night falls, Bayanbulak's sky turns into a vast expanse of black velvet, dotted with stars and crossed by the Milky Way. Far from the city's clamor, the purity of the starry sky here intoxicates the soul. Gazing up at the firmament, one seems to engage in a timeless dialogue with the universe, feeling one's own insignificance and the vastness of the cosmos.
🌟 Conclusion:
In Bayanbulak, every step is an exploration, every glance a miracle. This place is not just a travel destination, but a spiritual cleansing and rebirth. Taklimakan desert Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Deserts, Poplar forests, Lakes, off-season travel in Southern Xinjiang is not bad
📍Luobu Village
There was a warning earlier that the Poplar forest might be gone
So I feel lucky to encounter not just bare branches
"Desert for thousands of years, Poplar for a thousand years, Luobu people for a hundred years"
The early winter temperature starts to be unbearable, the scenic area Luobu people have retreated
There are fewer tourists along the way
The overall scene is more solemn and desolate in winter
But
The golden leaves on the ground of the Poplar forest form a carpet
The little brother is still fishing on the shallow beach of the Tarim River
The lake under the East Sand Mountain is still shining
Black swans are playing in pairs, as beautiful as a painting
Take the scenic spot sightseeing car from East Sand Mountain to Goddess Lake
Pass through the Taklamakan Desert all the way🏜️
Riding a camel in the desert and looking at the Goddess Lake
Still feel it's worth it
🎫: 50 (including sightseeing car)
⏱️: 10:00-18:30
🚗: It takes about 1.5h to drive from Kuerle city, there is a free parking lot at the entrance
❗️Notes
1⃣️It is recommended to take the scenic spot sightseeing car in two sections, the first section to Abudan Square. Most of the Poplar forest is on the way to East Sand Mountain, and then the second section belongs to East Sand Mountain-Goddess Lake-Abudan Square loop
2⃣️Most of the merchants have withdrawn this season, only a small amount of food is available at Abudan Square, but the commercialization mentioned by netizens is gone, and there are very few people, it's very comfortable to stroll around, and you can take pictures casually
3⃣️There are many projects in the scenic area, popular camel riding (80 yuan/person), glider, desert car, it was a bit cold and I just rode a camel and left, the scenery is really good
The vast Xinjiang is too big to imagine. There is only one Taklimakan desert road. It took 7 hours to drive from Aksu to Hotan. Taklimakan means the big desert below the mountain. It is called The Sea of Death and is the second largest mobile desert in the world. It is also rated as one of the five most beautiful deserts in China. The compound sand hills and sand ridges are like the dragons suffocating on the earth.
Hetian, Xinjiang, which is located in the border of the motherland, has been a place of cultural integration since ancient times. The mountains and rivers are magnificent and deserted. The multiculturalism and folk customs here are beautiful and colorful.
The site of the Hot Wake Buddha Temple, with a height of about 3 meters, is located in the desert 50 kilometers northwest of Luopu County in Hotan. The site was built in the 2nd to 3rd centuries. Its unique Buddhist temple architecture and Buddha image retain the original Gandhara style. It was an archaeological aid for the early study of Buddhism's introduction to the Western Regions and ancient sculpture art. Now it is the national focus. Cultural relics protection unit
Longing Like Sand—A Beautiful Legend in the Desert!~~.
Holding a handful of fine sand, slightly loosening the fingers, letting the light sand slowly sprinkle on one's dress. The fine sand grains seep through the skirt, dyeing the lotus-colored dress with a faint yellow. Handful after handful of yellow sand falls on the body, as if burying the most beautiful longing.
Longing Like Sand—A Beautiful Legend of the Taklamakan Desert; any affectionate woman, if she wears the most beautiful clothes and immerses herself in the rolling dust, heaven will give her a promise, turning her lifelong longing into a grain of light sand in the desert. For every lifetime of longing, heaven will sprinkle a grain of sand for her, thus creating the vast Taklamakan!
In the uninhabited desert, there is such a beautiful legend. When standing here, one will miss every person they care about in their heart. Some say longing is like the sea, but I prefer longing like sand!~~~~~
Desert Tour Recommendations:
Xinjiang's S21 Desert Highway: The S21 Desert Highway features landscapes such as oases, wetlands, and sea Yadan. The S21 project is designed to create a national "Top 100 Service Areas" and "Transport-Tourism Integration" demonstration service areas with high standards, truly building the brand system of the "Most Beautiful Desert Highway," the ethnic folk culture system, the smart travel service system, and the travel and tour design system. It reflects desert charm, wildlife protection, and green agricultural leisure themes, combining the strengths of many, and showcasing the diverse cultural combinations of the Corps culture, red culture, fishing and hunting culture, and nomadic culture.
Gansu: Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring
Distance from Dunhuang to Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring: 5 kilometers (about 10 minutes by car)
Scenic Area Ticket: 110 yuan (valid for 3 days)
Special Recommendations:
To take beautiful photos of Mingsha Mountain, you must go to the top of the mountain. To take beautiful daytime photos of Crescent Spring, it is best to go before the sun sets in the afternoon when there are fewer people and the light is better. To watch the sunset, pay attention to the sunset time of the day and allow an hour and a half to climb the sand mountain, otherwise, you might miss it halfway up.
Tips: Some advice for friends who want to go to the desert
1. About clothes: Remember not to wear blue-green and dark-colored clothes.
2. The best spot for shooting is on the roadside before reaching the core area of the scenic spot (but often there are many cars and people, all will be in the frame, and you can only edit them out later).
3. There is a parking lot in the core area (the observation deck does not require a ticket, but if you want to park in the parking lot, you need to buy a ticket).
You can choose to park for free on the roadside a few meters away from the core area (there are planned roadside parking spots, and after parking, you need to walk a few hundred meters to the observation deck, saving the ticket and parking fees).
4. Wear proper clothes. When you reach the observation deck, especially by the lake, the wind will be very strong and cold.
5. If the car is parked far away and you want to take photos by the lake, remember to bring all your sunscreen products. Do a good job of sun protection!

Don't go wrong! The wetland park next to the Luobu Village is more attractive
Friends going to Korla must go to 'Luobu Village', but I tell everyone with the experience of buying two tickets, don't rush into Luobu Village, it's more attractive to drive into 'Luobu Naor National Wetland Park' from the side!!!
'Luobu Village' and 'Luobu Naor National Wetland Park' are in the same location. The village takes a shuttle bus from the visitor center to visit, and the wetland park drives in from the side door to visit; the wetland park is larger and more primitive, I personally think it's okay to go directly to the wetland park!
🔸 Luobu Naor National Wetland Park 200r/car
The newly opened scenery, the original ecology is to buy tickets in the temporary shed at the entrance of the Luobu Village Visitor Center. It is a 46km ring road for self-driving, including several Populus euphratica landscapes. It is quite primitive. You can play as you like. The pictures are basically taken here. I personally think the experience is far better than Luobu Village
🔸 Luobu Village 49/person
The planned scenic area, there are many man-made scenes on the Populus euphratica forest, plus too many tour groups, the experience is not very good, the photos are not very good, the more highlights are the 'Goddess Lake' behind, which is more characteristic than the previous scenic spots~

Bayanbulak Swan Lake Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Xinjiang Hejing·Bayanbulak: Unlock the Quintuple Gifts of Nature in One Stop
🌟 Hidden atop the distant Tianshan Mountains lies a paradise on earth—Bayanbulak, a place whose very name signifies 'abundant springs,' invites you with its unparalleled natural charm to a feast for both the eyes and soul.
Attention:
1. In Xinjiang, everything is sold by weight, with 1 kilogram equaling 2 jin (1000g). Make sure to convert the price before making a purchase.
2. The Xinjiang government opens the Duku Highway from June to October every year. Please book your own travel time in advance.
3. When visiting a mosque, pay attention to respecting the local people's religious beliefs and customs. Do not discuss religious issues, and maintain silence when visiting the mosque for worship.
4. It is best to obtain the consent of the locals before filming them. You can communicate patiently, make friends with a smile, and not treat the locals as mere scenery in the lens.
5. Urumqi's peak time for restricting out-of-town vehicles: legal working days (Monday to Friday) morning peak from 9:30 to 10:30, evening peak from 19:30 to 20:30.
6. In Yining, the restricted hours for non-local vehicles are on legal working days (Monday to Friday) from 08:50-10:20, 13:00-14:00, and 19:20-20:20.
7. It is best to collect detailed information about Xinjiang, including transportation, dining, accommodation, scenic spots, and other aspects, before embarking on a self-driving tour. With this information, you can make a relatively accurate budget.
8. Check the vehicle before departure every day. Before departure every day, conduct a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle, including checking for oil and water leaks (look for oil stains on the ground under the car), measuring tire pressure, and checking if the tire pressure is appropriate; check the condition of the engine oil (pull out the dipstick and see if the color of the oil on top is normal and if the oil level is appropriate); don't forget to check if the spare tire is intact.
