Dominican Republic: Cabarete Caves
The Cabarete Caves are a network of limestone caves with a history spanning millions of years, hidden within the jungles of El Choco National Park. Three main caves are open for visits as part of guided tours.
Why you should visit:
· Underground swimming. In the park, you can dive into crystal-clear blue cenotes (natural pools) located deep within the caves. In one of them, Cueva de la Rana (Frog Cave), you can jump into the water from a height of 3-4 meters.
· Ancient art and meditation. The Taina Cave (also known as Vudú) features preserved rock paintings by the indigenous Taino people, and some visitors practice meditation there in complete darkness and silence.
· Jungle adventure. Along the way, the guide will share information about local plants and even show you how cacao and avocado grow.
Located just a 15-minute walk from the center of Cabarete. Admission is around $20 USD, which includes a guide and equipment.

[Dominica] Colorful Cabarete Beach 🌈
🌈Playa Cabarete
Cabarete, a city in the north of the Dominican Republic, is a world-famous destination for water sports enthusiasts🏄
Known for its golden beaches and lively atmosphere, Cabarete is a place where kitesurfers, windsurfers, and surf enthusiasts from all over the world gather!
The cafes, paths, and walls along the beach are colorful and pop, and very cute✨🌈
When it comes to beach resorts in the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana and Samaná tend to attract attention, but here in Cabarete, the sea is beautiful, but there are few people, so you can enjoy a leisurely time💎

[Dominica] Kitesurfing at Cabarete Beach 🪁
📍Cabarete, Dominican Republic
💰Price per person: From US$50 for 2 hours
🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: Rentals available
The only place in the Dominican Republic where you can kitesurf!
Cabarete is about a 3-hour drive from the capital, Santo Domingo!
I didn't know that kitesurfing was famous, so I was just planning to relax on the beach, but when I arrived, I was surprised🫢
It was overflowing with people enjoying kitesurfing!
On the other hand, if you want to swim slowly on the beach, I think nearby Sosua or Puerto Plata are better⚠️
I went there empty-handed, but there are a row of kitesurfing school huts along the beach, so you can rent and take classes right away.
However, kitesurfing is quite difficult, and I couldn't get out to the sea in a 2-hour lesson🥲
The language is English or Spanish📝
One of the great things about traveling is being able to experience a sport that you rarely get to try in Japan!
If you like kitesurfing or want to try it, come to Cabarete 🪁

[Dominica Hotel] Boutique Residences for Families🍷✨
🇩🇴Hotel name: Ultravioleta Boutique Residences
📍Location: Cabarete, Dominican Republic
💰Price per night: From US$450
💞Reasons for recommendation: Spacious bedrooms
🏖️Atmosphere/facilities: Kitchen, bathtub, balcony
Stayed here when my family came to visit the Dominican Republic🌴
As the name Boutique Residences suggests, everything is stylish at this residence hotel!
There are two beds and two bathrooms, and one bathtub in the master bedroom🛀
And the living room, where the sun shines in, has an island kitchen and a spacious dining area, making it feel like living in a model room🍷
There is a sofa on the balcony, where you can enjoy the sound of the waves, palm trees, and the beach☕️
There is a pool, but it is directly connected to the beach, so you can enjoy both the pool and the sea✨
It is expensive, but considering that it is for families and the quality of the rooms, it is a reasonable price! This is a hotel I'd like to stay at again🫧

Beach vacation
Ultra-small, but also ultra-special, Juria House stands out among the other Ubud cafes on this list. Be warned though, there are only a few spots to sit, so it’s not the place to go if you’re in a big group.
They use coffee made from a rarer type of bean harvested on the island of Flores in Indonesia, which has a distinct flavour from other varieties. The unique bean and the manual espresso machine produce a brew that you can’t find anywhere else in Ubud.
Since the place is so small, Juria House isn’t meant to be a spot to stay and work for the afternoon, but it’s definitely still a place you should stop by and experience when you’re in Ubud.
