Join the ski World Cup journey
This is not a ski magazine cover story, but the most anticipated trip this winter at COMO Alpina Dolomites Resort.
Travel with a champion, from the slopes to Sellaronda
The heart of the journey is the people. Travis Ganong, a top American speed skier and World Cup stage winner, will accompany the entire ski trip. His presence is not a gimmick—on the first day on the snow, he will take time to observe everyone’s skiing posture, then demonstrate with the simplest movements: lower your center of gravity a bit more, keep your upper body stable, and let the skis naturally tilt when turning. These insights and sharp skills from a top athlete are something no ski app can provide.
The Sellaronda circuit is the most classic ski route in the Dolomites, about 40 km long, circling the Sella mountain group clockwise or counterclockwise. Within one day, you cross four mountain passes and four valleys. The route is clearly marked with wide slopes, including blue runs suitable for beginners and red sections that thrill experienced skiers. Ganong will control the pace so everyone can safely experience the pure joy of alpine skiing—that moment when your skis cut through the snow, the wind rushes past your ears, and the whole world is just white and speed.
⚽️ Watch the World Cup from the VIP area
After finishing Sellaronda, the highlight is watching a FIS alpine ski World Cup super-G race from the exclusive SassLounge VIP area. This area is located at the core viewing spot on the course with excellent sightlines: racers launch from the high start gate, speeding down at over 100 km/h through rolling terrain, maintaining absolute precision and stability through fast, continuous turns.
You won’t be crowded with regular spectators but can sit in your reserved seat with a hot drink, watching the world’s top athletes perform a different kind of mastery in the very valley you just skied.
❄️ Five nights’ accommodation is at COMO Alpina Dolomites Resort.
The Mountain Room is spacious, designed with COMO’s signature minimalist natural aesthetic. Natural oak floors, bedding in light gray and off-white fabrics, stone walls—no extra decoration, focusing all attention on the view outside. Each room has floor-to-ceiling windows, some with private balconies. The first thing you see waking up is the white Dolomite peaks framed like a painting, light pouring through the clouds, with ever-changing mountain edges and shadows. The bedding is soft and breathable, with a pillow menu offering different heights and firmness to ensure deep sleep after a day of skiing.
The bathroom is clad in travertine with underfloor heating, so your feet won’t feel cold even in winter. The deep soaking tub faces the window, stocked with COMO’s own botanical products featuring soothing formulas with bergamot and cedarwood scents—after a day on the slopes, soaking in hot water while looking out at the Alpine winter night and snow-covered roofs is more relaxing than any massage.
Sledding under the starry night sky
The daily après-ski arrangements are just as thoughtful. You can head straight back to your room for a hot bath or visit COMO Shambhala Spa for a deep muscle recovery massage. Dinner is served in the hotel restaurant, where the chef uses Alpine ingredients combined with northern Italian culinary traditions—handmade pasta with truffles, slow-braised veal, local cheese platters, paired with selected red and white wines from the Dolomite foothills.
One evening, the hotel arranges a night sledding experience. After dinner, take a snowmobile-pulled sled to the mountaintop, then slide down the slope on the sled under a winter sky nearly free of light pollution, with only the rustling sound of the sled on snow. Stop at a small cabin in the valley for a cup of hot mulled wine before returning to the hotel to end the day’s ski adventure.
💰 Five nights in a Mountain Room start at €6,867 per person and €9,617 per couple, including skiing, VIP viewing, and all the above activities.
Please refer to the official schedule for FIS alpine ski World Cup super-G race dates and confirm the exact dates before booking.
Intermediate or higher skiing skills are recommended, as some parts of the Sellaronda circuit require solid skiing ability.
Winter temperatures in the Dolomites can drop to –10°C. Please prepare appropriate warm ski gear. The hotel offers ski equipment rental.
The resort is about a 2–3 hour drive from Innsbruck or Venice airports. Advance booking for transfers is recommended. Non-skiing family members can stay at the hotel to enjoy the full COMO Shambhala wellness experience, snowshoe hiking, or nearby town tours.
