When I traveled to Mauritius, I figured I’d just be lounging on the beach and swimming in the ocean. I mean, "What else is there to do on an island?!" But it turns out there are so many amazing activities here!!! We kicked things off at Chamarel National Park. It features a waterfall, the Seven Colored Earths, and giant Aldabra tortoises! We spent the whole day walking around and got some absolutely gorgeous photos. One day, we checked out Casela Nature Parks. It's a massive park with a ton of animals, and you can even step inside the enclosures to meet many of them for an extra fee. You can also feed the giraffes. Then we went on a safari within the park. The grounds are huge, and the animals look super healthy and well-cared for. Next up was hiking Le Morne mountain. I have to say right off the bat: you need to honestly evaluate your physical fitness, because this isn't just a simple trail hike—it’s legit rock climbing. But the views at the top are unreal! You can see the entire island right in the palm of your hand! Then came the most unforgettable excursion of my life—a whale-watching tour. I had heard you weren't allowed to swim with them, but the guides gave us the green light and nobody in our group was about to argue. It was mind-blowing! Seeing these massive, majestic creatures in their natural habitat underwater! I will cherish these memories forever!!! Our next adventure was a seaplane flight over the southern part of the island. We flew right over the "underwater waterfall." It’s an optical illusion that completely boggles the mind. Interestingly enough, you can't see the "waterfall" from Le Morne mountain. The illusion is only visible from the sky and out over the ocean. It's only when you fly directly over that specific spot that you can see the full picture of the waterfall illusion. In addition to all these excursions, we drove to different beaches every day and went snorkeling. The Indian Ocean has a stunning underwater world!!! Our favorite beaches for swimming: the Le Morne area and Flic-en-Flac (this one has the longest beach on the island; my personal favorite is the stretch by La Pirogue hotel). I wasn't a huge fan of the beaches in the northern part of the island.... The southwest coast is hands down the best! Our two-week vacation flew by in the blink of an eye, and I'm already itching to go back to this incredible island!

Highly flexible tour design and combination options! We enjoyed a helicopter ride to the underwater waterfall paired with a South tour (Chamarel, etc.), featuring various sightseeing and viewpoints. It was a very relaxed day at our own pace. Our driver-guide, Avi, shared abundant information and knowledge—truly the perfect day! The Benetier Island tour with dolphin swimming at Le Morne and a beach BBQ was amazing and very laid-back. The seaplane flight in Belle Mare is also highly recommended. On the East Coast, there are illusions of underwater waterfalls too. We absolutely loved our stay! The staff was kind and welcoming. We received an upgrade and stayed in the same Creole suite, which was beautifully decorated and featured an outdoor shower we adored. Both the breakfast and dinner were exceptional. What stood out the most was the sea view bar, offering stunning views of the bay while fruit bats gracefully flew by. We stayed at Preskil for a week, a charming and cozy place that isn't too large. The sea was stunning, and the buffet restaurant leaned heavily towards Indian-inspired, heavily spiced dishes, which might not always suit European tastes. The Mosaico restaurant, included in our all-inclusive package, was excellent with well-crafted dishes and friendly, competent staff, making it our go-to spot most evenings. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said about the 1810 restaurant, where pricing details weren't always clear. We joined the 'wild south' excursions with Alpitour, which were beautifully organized with no idle moments. The guide was both friendly and knowledgeable—highly recommended! Another boat trip with local personality Elio, including visits to Blue Bay, Ile aux Cerfs, and Chamarel waterfall, was a fantastic experience. However, we'd advise settling the agreed price afterward, as the terms on fish lunch and exclusive boat use weren't honored, and seeking refunds proved unhelpful due to his non-response.

A must-see in Mauritius is Chamarel National Park, where you'll see the Chamarel waterfall and the unique seven-colored sands! Let's start from the beginning! It's best to get to the park by car or taxi. You can also take a bus, but be prepared to walk several kilometers from the park entrance to the main attractions! If it's hot outside and you don't tolerate heat well, keep this in mind! First, you'll see Chamarel Falls. There are several viewing platforms for the waterfall—it's quite tall, but don't expect anything special. Next on the route are the seven-colored sands! A unique natural phenomenon. Mauritius is a volcanic island, and the "colored sands" are the result of lava interacting with other natural objects thousands of years ago. It's important to have sunny weather—then the sands will appear in a variety of colors! On cloudy days, the sands will appear more faded. The park also boasts giant Seychelles tortoises, which are fascinating to observe! I really enjoyed the park! I highly recommend it! If you take the bus, route 24 goes directly to Cascavelle!

This is an absolutely beautiful place and definitely worth a visit. The blend of lush rainforest, breathtaking landscapes, and gorgeous waterfalls creates an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Spotting monkeys in the area adds a unique charm, and there are plenty of fantastic photo opportunities. It's great for everyone—whether you're exploring on your own, as a couple, or in a group. One of the highlights here is the flexibility; you can either move through quickly or spend hours soaking in the surroundings. I highly recommend bringing water, snacks, and wearing comfortable shoes, as you'll likely do a fair amount of walking. Entrance is free, which adds to its appeal. We even saw a couple guided by a local who was explaining the area and helping with photos, which seemed like a fantastic option for those wanting a more enriched visit.

Staying here was truly delightful. The views with the sunrise, serene beach, and swaying palm trees were stunning. The warmth of the hospitality, personalized service, attentive staff, relaxing spa, and diverse options for food and drinks (especially the seafood and cocktails) made it special.
