In the afternoon, visit nearby pastoral areas, explore grassland villages and prayer flag campsites (the seventh picture shows flags and pastoral roads). Walk rural roads to see snowy plains or summer meadows and photograph distant views of the overpass. In the evening, head to Ebao town for accommodation. Food and drink · Breakfast: Eat lamb offal soup and white steamed bread in Babao town · Lunch: At a grassland pastoral farm stay, pre-order grilled lamb skewers, Tibetan buns, and milk tea. Discuss prices in advance to avoid overcharging · Dinner: At a small eatery in Ebao town, have simple ramen and braised snacks. There are few shops in town, so eat early Accommodation Two options: ① Budget hotel in Ebao town with complete facilities and good heating; ② Standard grassland Mongolian yurt guesthouse for a pastoral experience. Day 4: Ebao → Return to Xining, with a stop at Datong valley Travel route After breakfast, return along G227. You can stop again at Dabanshan to shoot the flower sea and snow mountains in different lighting. Enjoy the valley farmland scenery along the way and arrive in Xining in the afternoon to end the trip. If time permits, visit Heiquan Reservoir briefly on the way. Food and drink · Breakfast: Eat beef noodles and tea eggs in town · Lunch: At a restaurant in Datong county, try big plate chicken and Qinghai cold noodles · Dinner: Enjoy a final meal in Xining city, recommended dishes include halal hand-pulled lamb and braised lamb Accommodation The trip ends today. You can stay overnight in Xining or start your return journey. Practical tips 1. Clothing: In July, daytime temperatures range from 20–26℃, dropping sharply to below 10℃ in the evening. Bring a windbreaker. For flower sea photos, white or light blue long dresses are best. For winter visits, bring a thick down jacket and anti-slip snow tires. 2. Self-driving: G227 has many mountain switchbacks. Slow down on Dabanshan sections. Dirt roads inside the flower sea are prone to getting stuck; park in official lots and explore on foot or by electric bike. 3. Fees: Tickets are required for Yuanshan and Zhuoer Mountain; rural roads and lesser-known flower fields are free. Always ask pastoralists for permission before entering private grasslands for photos and pay accordingly. 4. Altitude sickness: Most people experience mild discomfort in Menyuan and Qilian. Avoid strenuous running and carry glucose oral solution.
