Exclusive Orchid Emblem of Puyi at the Puppet Manchurian Palace Museum

Having already visited the Shenyang Imperial Palace before, I didn’t have high expectations for this one. Upon entering after scanning the QR code to buy a ticket, I was greeted by a musty smell, and to my surprise, there was no air conditioning despite it being summer, making the air inside quite stuffy. This place mainly showcases the living quarters of Puyi during his captivity. Since I’m not very familiar with or particularly interested in this part of history, I mostly just took photos as I walked around. Some rooms display Puyi’s personal belongings, while others were used as offices, reception rooms, studies, music rooms, or resting areas for nobles. Puyi’s own bedroom wasn’t particularly luxurious either. On the contrary, I found the exhibits on artifacts and the introduction to the roof carving art more intriguing. After touring the place, I suddenly felt I could understand the bitterness and helplessness of being the last emperor. 😮💨
