Autumn in Daming Mountain is really beautiful. Hurry up and go hiking in Daming Mountain. It's currently free to enter And there are few people, so no need to squeeze through crowds. Travel guide in detail: Navigate to Daming Mountain Scenic Area Visitor Center, 1.5h from Hangzhou, and there is a direct bus from Hangzhou East Station to the scenic area. At the visitor center, take a shuttle bus to the cable car and mountain trail entrance (shuttle bus 25/person round trip). Going up the mountain: You can walk or take the cable car (cable car 80/person). Coming down the mountain: 1 walking [2 cable car + slide + go-kart (slide 50/person, go-kart 80/person, combo ticket for slide + go-kart 100/person). Walking up the mountain: You can choose the leisure trail or the 'Steel Great Wall'. Our route: leisure trail up the mountain > Longmen Waterfall & Hanging Bridge > Thousand-Acre Fields > Hanging Walkway > Daming Lake > Steel Great Wall down the mountain. The whole journey is 9 kilometers, taking about five hours. We took the leisure trail up the mountain, which is all stone steps with many streams and waterfalls along the way, and relatively easy. Coming down the mountain, we took the 'Steel Great Wall', which is challenging with 4000+ steps, all man-made steel steps, quite tiring, with a more open view, and there's a 'Sky Realm' for taking photos midway. Note: Those with bad knees should carefully choose the Steel Great Wall for coming down. We walked to the go-karts, and our knees couldn't take it anymore, so we chose to go down by go-kart for the remaining distance. The whole journey takes about five hours with stops, bring more water and dry food, there are small shops and restrooms along the leisure trail and at the mountain top. Hurry up and take advantage of the free entry period to climb Hangzhou's 'Little Huangshan' with friends on the weekend (free entry until December 31).
