The yellow, ancient city of Hoi An

Before pandemic, my good friend owned a budget travel agency and I supported her business by going on trips though her agency. She recommended me Bali and it was amazing. She then introduced me to Hoi An an ancient province in Vietnam that used to me a major trading area. It is known for its yellow buildings and beautiful, rustic pics vibes every where on social media. The only access to Hoi An is via road, so hire a car or get a cab from Da Nang (fly from Hanoi & HCM to Da Nang). The city has a lot of japanese and Chinese influence in architecture. It is humble ,graceful and authentic. It is located strategically around a river, pedestrian friendly and has lots of charm to check out such as beautiful bridges, temples, museums, colourful markets, cafes with authentic food etc. The colour yellow is very prominent in the city. Why, you asked? Well people from this region believe that yellow is the colour of luck, prosperity, pride, royalty and superiority, thus you can see the important buildings are painted in various shades of yellow. Yellow absobs less heat, thus it is also very practical for tropical cities like Hoi An.
