Pose with Hong Kong’s Thousand Buddhas

Located in the Sha Tin New Territories, the Thousands Buddha Monastery makes for a great day trip out of downtown Hong Kong. It was founded in the 1950s, and is actually a complex comprised of multiple temples, pavilions and a pagoda. To reach the monastery, you will have to climb over 400 steps - which should take maybe around 20 minutes - but there's plenty of entertainment along the way in the form of dozens of life-sized Buddha statues featuring all sorts of poses and expressions! The main attraction here is for sure the Main Hall of the monastery, where over 10,000 (actually I think they told us around 12,000) tiny golden Buddha figurines are stored.
