Public Works Coffee

The located on the south end of water street in Henderson and is our new home base coffee shop. By home base I mean after moving it is probably the nearest shop to our house. We stopped in on a Sunday morning to check it out and see what Water Street is all about. The shop is in a beautiful new building that is surrounded by a lot of new or renovated buildings that really give off the downtown vibe. The shop has a nice patio with a handful of tables and the interior of the shop is sleek with modern furniture, Las Vegas sports memorabilia, and street signs from Henderson. The shop aims to source items locally so the pastries, breakfast items, and lunch foods are all drawn upon from local resources which I love to see. It’s great to see coffee shops pair up with local bakers as it gives benefit to the shop and to the baker! Public Works also has a community room which can be reserved for different events. As far as this visit, I ordered an americano and a warm cinnamon bun. Baylee ordered the nutella latte and got a cookie to go with it. I thought the drinks were on par with the other coffee shops around the area and would gladly return to relax on the patio with an iced beverage in hand this summer. The shop also sells breakfast burritos, croissants, and quiches. I found their food menu to be well rounded while also not being extremely cumbersome. Public Works also offers beer and wine during a happy hour later in the day. I like when coffee shops have happy hours because it allows the space to be utilized in the afternoon and evening after the coffee rush of the morning is over. I think Public Works is a good spot for working, reading, or conversating.
