The original Mothership

The location is located in the heart of green valley and opened in 2015. For Juanny Romero Mothership was a follow up to one of the most popular coffee shops in the valley “Sunrise Coffee Shop” which opened 13 years ago. Mothership aimed to be more focused on espresso and the intimacy of coffee. The original location captures the intimacy in an unmatched way. The shop itself is tucked away in one of the oldest shopping centers in Henderson. The cafe is small and cozy just as they intended. The interior is a rectangular shape that’s bright and modern . From the white tiled floor, coffee bar, and backsplash the shop just feels very sleek and clean. The menu is stripped down in comparison to Sunrise, with espresso drinks being the main focus. A variety of pastries are artfully showcased in the front case and change depending on the season. I think the inside of the shop really gives off a feeling of being in a large city like New York. On our visit we got the drip coffee, vegan cookie, and the croissant. The croissant and vegan cookie were soooo good. We are not vegan but always find it great to see the option offered! The coffee itself is great and I think that’s what you should expect at a cafe that claims they are focused mainly on the espresso. On our visit I saw a handful of people come to the shop just to buy Mothership beans for brewing at home. If you are from another state and want to try some new coffee beans I would highly recommend Mothership. The shop is a little cramped when busy so I would not recommend spending too much time entranced into a laptop or book as you usually are close to a lot of people. I think it is a good spot to meet up with one other friend to have a meaningful conversation. The patio out front also has a handful of tables that we can’t wait to stop by with Sinatra.
