London is a magnificent old city that is worth a visit no matter how much time you have. If you have a layover of 8-10 hours, you can easily enter the city and enjoy about 6 hours of time. Check out some of the best ways to experience London's top attractions and famous landmarks...all within 6 hours! Have a cup of coffee in the ancient tomb raider guard room! (45 minutes) Located at Watch House Coffee on Bermondsey Street. Boluo Market Canyon (45 minutes) Stroll along the River Thames (60 minutes) After filling the market in Boluo with boots, be sure to take a walk across the river on the riverbank and head east to the tower bridge for sightseeing. Be sure to pass through "Me London" where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of old and new London. Enjoy a boat tour of London (60 minutes). Take a boat tour of London in a very simple way, at a fairly cheap price. On board, you can use your Oyster card to take the ride, which will take you north to Greenwich and Canary Wharf, and then all the way back to the Houses of Parliament. From the London Eye, view the Houses of Parliament (45 minutes)

🇬🇧 One of London’s Most Romantic Hidden Restaurants 🌿

If someone had shown me these photos without telling me where they were taken, I would’ve guessed Tuscany or a countryside restaurant somewhere in France.

But no…

This hidden gem is tucked away in Richmond, just outside central London.

Surrounded by beautiful gardens, climbing plants and historic greenhouses, Petersham Nurseries feels like stepping into another country.

It’s peaceful, elegant and one of those places that instantly makes you slow down.

📍 Where to Find It

🍽️ Petersham Nurseries Restaurant

📍 Church Lane, Richmond, London TW10

🚆 Nearest Station: Richmond Station (National Rail, District Line & Overground)

🚶 Around a 15-minute walk through Richmond’s charming streets.

If you have extra time, combine your visit with Richmond Park or a walk along the River Thames.

🌸 Why It’s Worth Visiting

Unlike most London restaurants, this isn’t just about the food.

The entire setting feels magical.

You’ll eat surrounded by flowers, olive trees, antique decorations and glasshouses filled with natural light.

It honestly doesn’t feel like London anymore.

Whether you’re planning a romantic date, celebrating something special or simply escaping the city for a few hours, it’s one of the most memorable places I’ve visited.

🍽️ What to Expect

The menu changes with the seasons and focuses on fresh British ingredients.

Every dish is beautifully presented, but the atmosphere is what people remember most.

The service is relaxed, the surroundings are incredibly peaceful and every corner feels photo-worthy.

💡 Travel Tip

Book well in advance, especially for weekends.

If the weather is nice, spend some time exploring the nursery gardens before or after your meal.

It makes the whole experience even more special.

❤️ What I Loved

🌿 One of London’s most romantic restaurants.

🌸 Beautiful gardens and greenhouse dining.

📸 Perfect for photos.

🍷 Amazing atmosphere for special occasions.

🚶 Easy to combine with Richmond Park or the Thames.

✨ It feels more like Italy than London.

⭐ Final Thoughts

London has thousands of restaurants.

But very few make you forget you’re actually in London.

Petersham Nurseries is one of those rare places where the atmosphere is just as memorable as the food.

If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, beautiful and completely different from the usual tourist spots, I’d definitely add this to your list.

These 7 places are in London… but most tourists never find them 👀
If you want to see a more surprising side of the city, start with the Greenwich Foot Tunnel, where you can walk underneath the River Thames for free. St Dunstan in the East feels like a secret garden hidden inside the ruins of an old church 🌿 Little Venice is perfect for a peaceful canal-side walk, while Kyoto Garden offers waterfalls, colourful plants and a quiet Japanese atmosphere inside Holland Park.

For something completely different, explore the colourful graffiti beneath Waterloo at Leake Street Arches 🎨 Isabella Plantation is especially beautiful when the flowers are in bloom, and The Garden at 120 gives you an incredible rooftop view without paying for an observation deck 🌇 These places prove that London is much more than Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the usual tourist route 💯

Address ➡️ Different locations across London, including Greenwich, the City of London, Paddington, Holland Park, Waterloo, Richmond Park and Fenchurch Street.

How to go ➡️ Use the Tube, DLR, Overground or bus, then walk from the nearest station. Group two or three places in the same area to make the most of your day.

London doesn’t have to be expensive! 🇬🇧
Some of the city’s best experiences are completely FREE, from world-famous museums and panoramic viewpoints to hidden gardens and riverside walks 😍 You can explore Greenwich Park, walk beneath the Thames through the historic Foot Tunnel, visit the British Museum, admire art at the National Gallery and watch the sunset from Primrose Hill without spending £1. My favourite part is discovering places that feel special but cost absolutely nothing 📸 London rewards curious travellers, so bring comfortable shoes and explore beyond the usual tourist attractions 💯

Address ➡️ Various locations across London, including Greenwich, Bloomsbury, Trafalgar Square and Primrose Hill.

How to go ➡️ Use the Tube, DLR or bus, then walk between nearby attractions. Pay with a contactless card and group places by area to avoid unnecessary journeys.
