Just a few stops by tram from downtown we arrived to Melbourne Zoo, the oldest zoo in Australia. 🇦🇺 We came eager to see kangaroos and koalas and although we missed the latter ones, the visit was still worth it. Melbourne Zoo is big and it has various species of animals from the 5 continents. 🌏 But possibly the one that impressed me the most is the cassowary, a type of flightless bird - similar to the ostrich - that dates back to the time of the dinosaurs and is endemic of northern Australia and the island of New Guinea.
