Nazaré and its peculiarities!

Nazare beach is located to the south of the imposing Nazaré Promontory, better known as “Sítio”. The pictures are from Nazaré beach and its port during the summer. Beach has crystal clear water where you can do numerous activities: swimming, surf, bodyboard, play beach handball, beach soccer, beach volleyball, … During the summer the village is ALIVE! A lot of tourists come to get tanned and their deserved vacations and these are conjugated with international beach soccer and handball tournaments and championships. The restaurants have fresh fish and great options to eat are near the beach. so you don’t need to walk a lot and you’ll have an amazing view 😊 The villlage is now well known for its big waves. But that happens on the north beach where a wave, 30m high, was ridden by the Hawaiian Garrett McNamara, in November 2011, and was nominated “Biggest wave” in 2011 by the Billabong XXL Global Big Wave Awards.
